i have done well with drinking my water, switching frm soda to green tea and smaller portions all around.

other than that kids have been sick so exercise has been close to none,i know its terrible.

im also having an issue because ive been trying to watch my carbs but as a mom of 3 its hard to come up with meals that work for everyone and cooking something different for myself isnt really within my budget.
..dunno how to work it out.

Well lets say continue in the mean time & we can take a vote. It kinda seems like most of us have fallen off Lol so if everyone wants we can start the challenge over. However I say continue in the mean time so that no matter what you still have gotten your goals off to a jump start. I mean its really about the consistency anyway rt?!

So do we all want to start the challenge over? I'll give everyone a few days to respond.

How about instead of completely cutting them out of your diet how about focusing on portion control? You can prepare healthier yet tasty versions of the same meals (spaghetti squash or wheat pasta instead of regular pasta for example) for your family and just cut your normal portions in half. That way your still only cooking 1 meal, still eating the same thing as your family but just less of it.

Maybe you could also keep fruits, veggies, salad, etc around as a standby so in case you don't want what everyone else is having you always have a cheap healthy snack available for you as well as your family.

Besides its never too early to start having children make healthier food choices in a world full of fast food joints!

Lol. Congrats on the weight loss!

I apologize for not posting again sooner but my son broke my laptop and then my brother got a virus on the house computer! Needless to say I have been MIA for a while bc of it.

So I was hoping that some other ladies would comment on whether they wanted to start over or not. I'm all for it if everyone else is. I say we give it until Sunday to officially restart the 40 day challenge. Hope some more people will check in before then!

The challenge will end on September 15th. For those of you who are doing lovely keeping up w/your goals then by all means please continue...this can just turn into a 80day challenge for you and I hope you will continue to post and share.

For anyone else who checks in (old or new) feel free to join in at anytime. Again good luck to us all and I'm super excited & motivated to get this done now...especially since my bdays coming up! I already had my vitamins today, drank my green tea & water, & as soon as I get off the computer I'm going outside to exercise!

Good luck ladies!

Sounds good. I only managed to lose 2 more pounds which is still cool and I'm thankful for it. Still doing the same except chilin now. Currently reading The 4 Hour Body and its very insightful and interesting. You brave goin outside to exercise its hot even at 630 when I go jog. If its not that early its a dvd.

Lol. I was trying to wait till about 6:30 or 7 when the temp went down some but now I just do it whenever the mood hits me. I just throw on some sunblock & my big sun hat & go for it! Plus the extra sweating I do when the temps a little warmer makes me feel like I worked harder! Lol.

But yes, I sometimes switch up & do my dvds when I'm not wanting to go outside but nothing beats being out in the elements to me so the dvd has been on hold for a while now bc I just don't wanna be cramped up in the house all the time.

Default Check-in Time!

So ladies...how is everyone doing?! I had my vitamins, water and I'm sipping on my green tea as I type. I will also go for a walk/jog when I get back from taking my son to the doc.

Just checked my weight and I'm still 125, so I'm joining.
My goal is to exercise at least 5 days a week, and lose 5 pounds by the end of this month.

I also want to stop eating fast food and meat, and stick to a (mostly) vegetarian diet.
And I'm trying to kick junk food to the curb.

Those are great goals! I'm also trying to keep to a better diet as well. No red meat and no pork. I need to really stick to that bc if I don't my pancreatitis really flares up.

I'm also planning on joining the Airforce come the middle of October so I literally have 2months to get my butt in gear or else boot camp is gonna kick my a*s! I did start back jogging today so that's a start!

O that is so fantastic. I always tell ppl to join the AF if your gonna join the military. I'm another branch! Ha I'm incorporating what I'm reading with the 4 hour body and its pretty amazing. I'm actually eating more than I want to and losing weight and inches that's the best part.

What branch are you in & maybe you can answer a question I posted in the 4a section. Did you transition while at boot camp and/or how did you handle your hair while doing so? I was thinking of bunning and co-washing but not so sure.

It seems like your routine is working for you. I may have to do a google search and check that out! I actually stopped weighing myself weekly. I figured as long as I'm doing the work then I shouldn't be gaining (knock on wood) & I will weigh myself when I see a very noticeable change in my body and the way my clothes are fitting. That way I'm excited w/the weight loss and I won't start thinking 'hey I lost 5pds I can have that whatever' like I sometimes do when I weigh myself weekly.

As of right now that's working and I'm thrilled that I started back jogging today. It feels sooo good. For a while I thought I was about to die (lol) however theres nothing like it. Especially when you sit back and process not only what you have done but also what you are capable of!

So I had my vitamins today, green tea and plenty of water (I am sipping on some rt now). Since I jogged yesterday, I walked today and alternated going uphill on the left, right side and backwards to alternate which leg muscles I was using.

Tomorrow its bk to jogging!

Girl I've been natural before it was a thing to be natural. But in basic I kept my hair in a French braid and it was the healthiest my hair ever was because its a protective style. I'm in the Army. On another note everyone keeps telling me I look like I've lost weight so I must be doing something right.

Just checking In. It's going to be hard to fit in exercise time with school and homework...

Apple cider vinegar & water, and green tea first thing every morning.

I'm going to try to drink that a couple hours before bed, too.

Water throughout the day. I'm still pushing myself (slowly) away from meat, so for me it's:

Breakfast: fruit and/or nuts or oatmeal

Lunch: fruit/vegetable salad or raw fruits/veggies

Dinner: steamed vegetables and/or fish, or soups (lentil, vegetable)

Snacks are nuts, Greek yogurt, chocolate soymilk, etc.

So far so good!

Isn't it funny how other people always notice weight loss before we do? I was at work one day and my co-worker commented on how big my pants were getting. I was initially like whatever till I went into the bathroom and looked in the large full length mirror and then I said ok...maybe they are getting a little big! Lol.

Beginning, middle, whatever. All are welcome to join!

As far as my goals go I kinda went into panic mode today when I realized how close my bday was! So while I have been drinking my water & green tea and taking my vitamins, I decided to step things back up and I went jogging today. It felt sooooo good!
