How can you low carb it AND count calories?

I have a hard time getting the multi down in the morning! I need to take it with juice or some liquid with a taste to cover up the vitamin. Urgh.

Ha! Sorry to laugh at your misfortune, but "butthole" is funny. Yeah, it's gotta be mixed in with tastier stuff.

I found that I can do the greens and the fish oil in my protein shake and get them both down at once. Whew!

Anyway, I don't think there's any reason that you can't count calories while also eating low carb. I know that plenty of people do that!

On the other hand, if you have a tendency toward overeating, then focusing on feelings of hunger and fullness may be more helpful than counting calories. Start eating when you're moderately hungry, not starving or bored; stop eating when you're moderately full, not stuffed. Learning to rely on your body's signals is a lot more realistic and normal than entering calories into a journal or website.

It's mot impossible, but maybe not needed. I personally only count calories (I use the LoseIt app) and find that works for me.

I just figured out that I'm taking the wrong dose of fish oil. I've been taking one softgel (1000 mg of fish oil) daily but I'm supposed to be taking 15 grams of fish oil a day. That's 15 capsules! That's not going to work. I guess I'm going to need to get the liquid and put it in my smoothies... I'm scared.

I 2nd JillH's suggestion about looking into primal, or paleo if you cant handle dairy. I am on my 2nd week primal and so far, it's great! You dont have to count calories, although some do. Of course, everything is still in moderation, but just eat until your full. I have cut out grains entirely and don't miss them at all. The one thing I read that started me down this path is this:
2 slices of whole wheat bread has a higher glycemic impact than a snickers bar! After I read that, I cut out the grains!
Eating primal, to lose weight, you keep your carbs bw 50-100, which is pretty easy to do. You get your carbs from veggies and fruit. One thing I have noticed is that the more protein and fat you eat, you're not hungry bw meals so you're able to cut out snacking. If you're still hungry bw meals, you eat more protein/fat. I can even do intermittent fasting, which is going for at least 14 hrs without eating, but not on purpose really, it just happens that way on the weekends. Perfect example is Monday night, my mom went into the hospital. Tuesday I knew I wouldnt be (hopefully) eating until I got home that evening, so for breakfast I ate 3 fried eggs (in coconut oil) and a couple of sausage patties. I didn't eat again until around 7:30 that night and I was fine. If I had been eating the way I used to with lots of grains & carbs, I would've been dying by 2 or 3:00, nauseous and a killer headache!
