I need to get in on this. I worked out hard all spring and summer, but with my work schedule I haven't been great.

I used to work out in the morning, but that is no longer an option. I need to find the motivation to workout when I get out of work!

Hoping I will find it...

I'm in the same boat!!!! I was doing really good summer and fall then my sinuses started bothering me realy bad so I couldn't and then the rain and I use our road for my mile runs and it has been raining a lot so that makes it really hard because its a gravel/dirt road. And its just been so cold!!!!

Is working out on your lunch break an option? I had a co-worker who went to the gym near our job each day on lunch, worked out, showered and came back to work because her schedule was just too busy to do it before or after work.

Is it too late to get in on this. I'm trying to lose 20 by 2012. I was doing really well at the beginning of the year. I don't recall why I stopped...well, I have 3 young kids so I'm sure it had something to do with time. Anyway, I just got off the treadmill and boy, do I need encouragement! Lol You'd never guess I used to be a runner.

I have got to get in on this too, for an extra dash of motivation. I would like to lose another 5 or so pounds by 2012, that would be ideal! But even if I don't necessarily lose the weight I'll be perfectly okay with just keeping my exercise habits on track, that's enough of a goal for me.

Currently I work out 5 or 6 days a week, I'm in college so having a gym in my residence hall makes it oh-so-easy! I love it. Don't have to go outside in the cold, don't have to see a lot of people, it's so convenient lol. So I go to the gym every day during the week, and when I'm home on the weekends I try to play dance central or take my dog for a walk or do something.

Over Christmas break I'm starting Insanity, which should be fun :P We'll see how that goes, but I'm excited to try!

Ita w/u steph! It would be great to drop the weight by 2012 but I would also be ok w/just knowing that I'm well into a consistent exercise reggie as well by then and have all of next year to concern myself about dropping the lbs which will happen naturally if my routine stays on track!

Hi everyone! I'd really like to get involved in this. I have a pretty significant amount of weight to lose. I've dropped about 20 so far (WW), but I find it's always nice to get extra motivation wherever it can be found. My primary exercise in martial arts training (Tang Soo Do), and lately I've been training 4-5 days/wk. Scheduling is a huge issue for me because I also sing in two choirs.

One thing that is sure to help with my motivation is that I was asked to compete in my first major tournament next month. As part of the preparation, I'm required to do at least 4 classes each week.

Welcome Corrina! 4 days a week of martial arts training?! Wow. I mean I'm hitting the gym a lot lately but that sounds intense. In a good way though! Lol. It sounds like your well on your way to dropping those unwanted pounds and we're all here to keep you motivated!

That's exactly how I feel! I mean, I can definitely see some results but I'm not actively pining for skinniness, I want to get healthier We'll both definitely lose weight naturally just by being healthy, so yay!

Martial arts -- that's awesome, I want to do something like that! I just use the elliptical for 30-40 minutes each day :P Good luck, I'm sure it'll be an awesome source of fitness, and you'll do well in the tournament!

It's absolutely the most intense thing I've ever done. You wouldn't know from looking at me (since I'm carrying an extra 50-60 pounds right now), but I've always been a bit of a gym rat (I just really, really like food- especially sweets and carbs). I'm not happy unless I feel like my legs are going to cave from underneath me when I leave the gym. But I started doing Tang Soo Do about a year and a half ago and it takes my workouts to a completely different level. After doing a week long camp in July, I realized that even carrying the extra weight my athletic ability now far exceeds my old skinny self.

Today will be a more difficult day for motivation, only because I went home after work and need to physically leave my apartment again (M,W,F I can just go straight from work because there's a 5pm class on those days). I know I'll feel great once I get there; it's just the getting back out the door.

Reporting in again! I've been trying to eat healthier. Just had breakfast: 2 small sausage links, a couple bites of eggs (I'm not sure how healthy these ones in my college cafeteria are...) , and a small bowl of cheerios. I'm full but not stuffed, it's nice!

Oh, Corrina -- didn't see your post! Oh do I know the feeling, I hauled myself out of bed at 8:30 this morning to go to the gym. It's hard toget out the door, definitely! Especially once you're all comfortable and relaxed at home, lol! I did not want to change out of my pajamas :P

ITA. It's hard to get going but it's TOTALLY worth it once you get to the gym, work out and when your done and on your way home. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING beats the way you feel when your done working out! That feeling of accomplishment makes you feel awesome and makes getting up early or leaving the house again soooo worth while.

So today I went spinning. We did interval training and the instructor kicked our butts! Lol. We worked so hard today in class our legs were sweating when we got off the bikes. Lol. I signed up for an old school boxing class tomorrow so I'll report back on how that goes.

And I did indeed make it to class yesterday and today. Yesterday was mostly a bag workout (kicking drills/interval training), and tonight was tournament prep (forms, drills and sparring). It's been a super-intense week and I'm supposed to go back in the morning for more. But I'm grateful for the exercise just because of all the food this time of year. Yesterday I got to navigate the hospital's holiday food-free-for-all (picture an entire conference room filled with various cakes, cookies, pastries, etc). Tonight was dinner with the other managers in my department.

Not working out today; it's a rest day Saturdays are always my break. They also used to be my binge on tons of food day, but I'm getting so much better at that! I've been saying no to unhealthy things that I usually love and instead eating much healthier (eggs and sausage instead of deep-fried french toast, stuff like that!)... so I'm going to try my best to keep that up today!

That's great that you've been able to swap out for healthier foods. I have the same issue with going all out crazy on food on my days off- I suspect that's why I keep my schedule so packed most of the week- no time for binging. I've been taking weekends off from training, but I'm feeling so much pressure with this tournament next month (mostly from myself, I admit), that I'm trying to train every possible minute that I can. It's made my social life non-existent, but I'm down 3 pounds today after a week of way too much food.

So I ended up missing my boxing class on Saturday. I was really looking forward to it but family things came up so what can you do? My child was scheduled to have surgery yesterday but that got cancelled bc he got sick late Sunday so today was the first day I was able to get back in the gym since Friday. I was able to get in an hr of cardio and I'm hoping to be able to get up early tomorrow to make it to my spinning class.

Im getting married in December 2012 and I have decided to start my healthy habits now. I actually started a couple of months back but I just found this thread so I wil join you guys on the journey. For those of you who have mentioned working out at home, you need to visit bodyrock.tv They have AMAZING short high intensity workouts. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

Teri Laflesh's book "Curly Like Me" sits on my desk and everytime I get frustrated and an impulse tells me to shave my head, I look at it in hopes that one day my hair will graze the top of my butt.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding and kudos to you for starting on healthy habits NOW vs waiting until a month before the wedding to crash diet like soooo many do. Lol. I know your gonna look fab for your wedding and these healthy habits that you are initiating now will continue to have you looking fab for life! Soooo my plans too! Lol. I'm trying to make life long changes not just short term changes.

Thanks for the link. I will definitely check that out. I have a membership at the gym but there are times like this/next week when my child is sick and I'm not gonna be able to get in the gym like I want but I still want a good workout at home.
