Default Blender for Green Smoothies that's not $400

I like my smoothie to be really smooth and my Ninja isn't giving me that kind of smooth smoothie. I want to try some green smoothie recipes, but I need to make sure I have a blender that can liquefy such fibrous material and also blend ice smoothly. Anyone have any suggestions (other than the super expensive Vitamix or Blendtec models).

Thanks.

Hi - I searched quite a while until I settled on the Health Master about six months ago; the one Montel Williams endorses. It functions as a blender and food processor and more. The blades are ridiculously sharp and cleanup is a breeze.

I found it at Bed Bath & Beyond for $100 and then used a 20% off coupon, which brought the cost down to $80.

I make green smoothies 2-3 times a week and fruit smoothies 2-3 times week so I get a lot of use out of it. The longer you run it, say 3 minutes instead of 1 or 2, the smoother the drink; smoothness and texture also depends on how much liquid (water, milk, etc.) you add to it as well.

So check out the Health Master online and see if that's something you may like to invest in.

HTH.

Default Vitamix

My Vitamix was under $400 bucks and it makes my smoothies REALLY smooth. There is nothing like it. Worth the investment in my honest opinion.

I agree - I was having a hard time justifying the Vita-mix, but once I took the plunge I understand why it is the best!! I have green smoothies almost everyday and it liquifies pretty much everything into a wonderful icy treat plus with the warranty you probably won't ever need another blender!!

(plus it makes awesome margaritas!! Lol)

I got mine at Costco for under $400. Totally worth every penny

I made a smoothie for a friend last weekend and she could not believe how SMOOTH the smoothie was. Honestly - I did not realize how smooth a smoothie could actually be until I made mine with the Vita-Mix. It is the BUSINESS!

My blender was a cheapy $50 one. I make green smoothies everyday. Once I realized how to get them really smooth mine has done a great job. Maybe a more expensive one will blend it smoother faster, but I have no complaints with mine..

Eta I use kale and even that blends well. Ie. I don't have to chew my smoothies. They're liquid.

The NutriBullet!

It's actually specially designed for green smoothies but of course it's fantastic for all sorts of smoothies/ drinks. Cleanup is sooo easy!!

They sell it for $120 plus s/h on their website but I go mine at bed bath and beyond for $83. It's $100 but I had a 20% off coupon.

I've been using this kalorik blender from target $59 and it blends my greens, berries and ice down to a smooth texture. I'm sure it's probably not as perfectly smooth as if I used a vitamix or blendtec, but it's smooth and tasty enough for me. My kids approve too which is saying a lot.

Yes, I blend fresh and frozen fruit, ice and greens including the tougher ones like kale and my smoothies are smooth. I make sure I add enough water or liquid and I pulse it a couple of times before blending.

I used my oster blender to make a green smoothie today. I worked perfectly fine for me. I will continue to use it for my green smoothie until it dies!
