Default Help... I need to lose 25-30 pounds!!!

It's been really hard to lose weight i try eating as healthy as i can but time wise and financially wise i am just not cutting it.... Worst part is it feels like I'm starving my self... I wish i can eat all the lean fish n meats but i live in a house of 12 n all that is available is mostly rice and plain chicken.... So i eat mostly packaged food at work but the ones that's usually tasteless with low salt, calorie, n fat....

I really don't want to give up but it seems pointless... I tried working out but i have knee issues....

Any suggestions!?

Myfitnesspal is an app I've been using. You put in current weight goal weight and how many pounds you want to lose a week. It tells you how many calories to eat to reach that goal. You just put in what you eat/drink and exercise you do (it counts cooking and cleaning too). I love it plus you can get your friends to get it too and y'all can hold each other accountable. Its free can't hurt to try.

Losing weight is ultimately about burning more calories than you consume, or consuming fewer calories than you burn. What this app does is increase your awareness of what you consume versus what you burn off. Successful weight loss is a lifestyle change, and these tools help us to track those changes. There a reason that Weight Watchers was named the best weight loss diet by US News and World Reports- because it promotes healthy lifestyle change.

I'm not saying that you would need to join Weight Watchers. I was just noting them as an example because lifestyle changes are the best way to lose weight and keep it off. The fitness app that the previous poster mentioned will do the same sort of tracking, so it should help you in the same way as WW would.

There are a few tricks I've learned to keep from feeling hungry. I make sure that all of my meals contain a good amount of fiber and protein. Fiber helps you feel full, protein helps you feel satisfied. A quick breakfast for me might be a Fiber one bar and a cup of Greek yogurt, for example. Important to note- if you have kidney problems, you will need to watch protein consumption.

The next most important thing is to drink lots of water. I know it can be a hassle to run to the bathroom all the time, but after about a week of consistently drinking lots of water your body adjusts and bathroom trips decrease.

I do rely on a lot of pre-packaged food, so I understand where you're coming from. I live alone, and between two jobs, two choirs and karate tournament team, I have neither the time nor the inclination to do a lot of cooking. I have started making dinner again, but that's because one of the local supermarkets here started selling mix and match pre-washed, chopped and prepped meats, vegetable and sauces. I skip the pasta/rice add-in and add extra veggies. One saute pan and ten minutes later I have dinner.

I had good results with lean cuisine meals. They are usually on sale at winn dixie. You can scan the barcode using myfitness pal to keep track of your calories. I lost about 12lbs last year by eating lean cuisine and tracking everything using myfitness pal
