iroc, good for you that you pushed through! You could have easily told yourself you'd just skip it because you weren't feeling it (I have this internal argument with myself so much), but you didn't and that's awesome.
KookyCurl!! That is such great news!! What a relief that must have been and such great motivation to keep on with what you're doing. Taking charge of your health is definitely empowering and I'm glad you were able to do something about it.
I haven't shredded in a while, but I'm still doing something every day no matter how crappy I feel. I've noticed a few pounds lost on the scale so that's promising.

The amount of time from slipping on the peel and landing on the pavement is exactly one bananosecond.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

It's my birthday and I deserve a day off from shredding. But I didn't get to shred yesterday. I might shred. I might not.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I need to shred today. It's been too long. Hopefully my son happily takes a long nap

I can check the shred off my to-do list for today
Did you all know you can do the DVD with just the music and not listen to Jillian? I just learned that today.

I'm frustrated with my tummy. It's still so jiggly and doesn't seem like its firming up at all. It's my biggest trouble spot too.
Has anyone seen tummy progress with the shred? How long did it take for results?

I wrote this, right?
Seriously, this is me. It is too my biggest trouble spot, and its big and jiggly.
It makes me so frustrated. Right now it's my obsessive focus. But then I know if it wasn't there I'd make my back, or my arms the obsessive focus.
No, haven't seen any firming, but then again I haven't seen much of anything. I am starting to believe that I'll never be completely comfortable with my trouble spots short of surgery.
I was doing the shred level 1 yesterday and I was noticing that some areas do look smaller, maybe more tone, but my stomach still hangs like a bag of dough. I'm not expecting miracles. I've had 2 kids and my tummy just didn't go back very well.

I skipped yesterday - the muscles were sore after no Shred for a month! But Shredded today, and although the first day was tough getting back into it, today my endurance was right up there. I mean, I'd expect that after the treadmill stuff I'd done the past month.
Anyway, noticed yesterday that my pants fit a little better in the waist. not a big difference, but I'll take it. And today while shredding I noticed that stuff wasn't jiggling as much. Small changes, but enough to give me some motivation.

I did the shred yesterday for the first time in a while and I'm a little sore today, which is oddly satisfying. What's nice is noticing I'm nowhere near as sore as when I first started.

Yes, it was quite nice to not be so sore it hurt to sit on the toilet and wondered how on earth you'd get back up. You know you've made progress when that happens.

That is the worst position to have to get into after your first 2 days of Jillian!

Hey y'all! Sorry...it's be a while.
So...exercising...about that...
I just haven't been in the mood for Jillian lately. I've been doing walks around my neighborhood. I haven't done C25K at all this week...I could still squeeze in the 3 workouts but you're supposed to take a rest between each day. I've been doing it on my own for a while ( my friend has since quit on me...and she's the one who started this whole thing...Haha)
However, my diet had been pretty healthy the last few of days. I even bought a big tub of frozen yogurt so that I could have a "cheat" dessert at night. It's only about 150 calories if you give yourself the right serving size and it's not overly sweet like ice cream (which I actually prefer) and it's still smooth in texture.

My moms been visiting this week so I haven't shredded since last week. And I hurt my ankle doing it then.
I'm gonna start back when she leaves. I promise.

I've been walking outside a lot. Jillian and I just haven't been getting our time together.
I'll probably go back to her after it gets too cold or when it starts getting dark too early to walk/jog outdoors

I had no idea this thread existed!! I just started 30 Day Shred yesterday. I needed something to get me motivated again, and that would give me zero excuse not to do it. I hurt my knee back in June, so working out pretty much disappeared, and physical therapy is what July consisted of, and now I'm ready to get back into it again.
It's hard to justify not doing the Shred because it's only 20 minutes long.
I am pretty sore today, but I'm going to power through Day 2 because I'll feel like I let myself down if I don't do it.

Thread Title Change!!!
Welcome, emthefantastical!
Y'all notice I changed the title? Everyone should feel free to do workouts other than Jillian Michaels' stuff. It was a great place to start for me and I'm glad others have joined in and have branched out a bit. I think keeping variety in our workouts is key to not only challenging your muscles, but keeping yourself motivated.
I am psyched because so far I have lost 6.4 pounds. It's a slow and steady journey but I know once I get down to my goal weight it will be a cinch to maintain. I'm eating 1700 calories per day and working out 4 to 6 days per week and feel great. I've been able to buy smaller band sizes on my bras, wearing smaller jeans sizes, and wearing shorts I wore last summer even though I weighed fewer pounds then so I know I've lost inches as well.
My routine is concentrated on weights now, which I do M-W-F, and I do a cardio workout on Saturday, usually JM Banish Fat Boost Metabolism or a step aerobics routine. Tuesday and Thursday I do a short 20 to 30 minute session on my Pilates reformer.
Even though I haven't posted on this thread in a while, I do check in regularly and I read all your updates. I haven't forgotten about you guys! I'm cheering you on from the sidelines. Go team!!!
