the thing that helps for me (I can't do fitness because of my back, knees, ankles, ... name it) is drinking my selfmade "juice".

In fact it's iced tea, but with a flavour (tastes like fruit juice, reaaaaaaaaaaaally tasty so you don't have to dislike it or anything) and it is full of "antioxidants" which helps you lose weight, and doesn't have a lot of calories.
I lose more weight with drinking my iced tea than with drinking water and it's more tasty and helps me stay away from candy and so on since it's sweet.

So, what do I put in my iced tea?
2/3 of my iced tea is green tea that I put in the fridge.
When the green tea is cold enough, 1/3 light cranberry juice and a bit of sweetener (not sugar, because that gives calories).
Easy to make, tasty and helps losing weight.
(not to forget: it's quite cheap as well ^^)
Heyyo! I'm jasmine and I've been overweight my whole life now I'm 18 5'10 186lbs and still loosing. I was 215 at my heaviest when I was 13 my mom and I did weight watchers and I lost 40lbs then I started slipping and gained 20lbs :/ but now I'm just trying to get to 170 since that will put me at a healthy BMI. I started going to the gym 4 days a week because its too hot to walk outside right now (unless I get up before the sun) and I also drink a total lean protein shake for breakfast and lunch they fill you up but if not I snack on fruits. I'm vegetarian now so I don't consume as much fat as I use to not do I drink sodas on a regular basis I'd rather eat my calories. I suggest walking, drinking more water, upping fiber intake by eating more fruits and veggies, and protein from lean meats if you eat meat.
thanks ill try it

I also have a bad knee (ACL) so I had to give up running and a lot of impact type exercises. Some of the things that you could look into in your gym are ellipticals (might be strange to get use to but there are some great workouts floating around online that give you a great cardio workout). Also, swimming is great low impact sport and sooo good for you! And strength training is also great too. If your gym offers some classes sign up! I've done a Zumba class as well as done some insanity type things. Finding something you enjoy definitely helps because than you think of it as fun rather than exercise.

Eating healthy is also important (as a lot of people noted). There are some good websites and apps that can help you with meal ideas and grocery lists etc. if you find an Aldi supermarket around you they carry fruit and vegetables as super low prices.

Also, (which might be more a personal thing) but I found that rather than avoid 'bad foods' and guilt trip myself for eating them later I simply eat what I want within moderation. I don't keep junk food or things in my house but if I'm out with a friend and want ice cream or French fries I get them! I found it helps curb the cravings for junk food eating a little now and than rather than constantly wanting it and than binging on it when it's around lol

Hey girl! I 21 years old and I weigh 170lbs. I'm the same height as you! You said you do gymnastics, it's possible that some of your weight is muscle. I have never been tiny and never will be. By looking at your picture I would have guessed 140 at the most! Just eat less processed foods ( packaged foods) and incorporate some kind of exercise a few times a week. Honestly I think you look fine!

WATER FILTER REVIEWS AND INFORMATION
I don't know what ur diet is like but it should consist of at least 64oz of water a day, ideally u shud drink half ur body weight in water. Also, eliminate drinking sugary beverages, swap out simple carbs like white rice, bread, and pasta for whole grain pasta, bread, and brown rice and try to include lean meats, fresh fruits, and vegetables daily. Eating 5-6 small meals and snacks throughout the day helps keep ur metabolism going.
If u make those changes without exercising u will notice a difference. Once u get the hang of things u can include 3 "cheat meals" a week where u can eat the things u enjoy. This will help avoid binge eating
Hey! I was in the same boat as you when I was a kid. What helped me most is I stopped drinking soda and sweet tea. One main problem with drinks is it can eat up all of your calories without leaving you full. One great way to lose weight is to walk to and from school and maybe occasional turn it into a jog or run when you feel comfortable.
You should try Insanity! I finished my first month and lost 32 pounds so far (: It's hard work, and will take a lot of dedication. But, it's definitely worth it!

Take daily physical activity (work up to walking 10,000 steps or the equivalent, wear walking or running trainers that have been fitted to you).

Best thing to do is start healthy eating, so you concentrate on what you can ad should be eating for health not what you cannot and should not be eating. Seven to nine servings of low sugar fruits and non starchy vegetables in the full rainbow of colours every day, three servings of plain dairy, oily fish at least twice a week ideally daily, small servings of lean land animal muscle meat, other healthy fats (olives, avocado, nuts, seeds, coconut, cocoa powder) regularly, plenty of mineral and fibre rich foods (beans, lentils, nuts, seeds), no products containing added sugar or fat, no refined/ white carbs. Watch your serving sizes are the recommended, don't guess, and consider your drinks not just your food.

At your age its very important to focus on eating a very healthy diet of whole foods and keeping active! Dont worry about "losing weight". Focus on being healthy and your body will level out.

When we cut out processed foods and focus on whole foods are bodies are much more satisfied and you will not be nearly as hungry. Trust me I used to be hungry all the time. Refined sugar and simple carbohydrates in processed foods make you MORE hungry.

Think fresh raw vegetables and some fruit, protein especially chicken and fish. Cut back on dairy like cheese and milk, your body actually utilizes more calcium from vegetables, especially leafy greens.

Eggs area gregreat quick protein if your not allergic, boil a dozen eggs and grab one each day with breakfast. Nuts are great to satisfy that salty crunchy cravings. Fruit satisfies a sweet craving and if you must chocolate. ... (and I must!) Dark chocolate is more satisfying and healthier.

I used to be a soda junkie but I start with water first thing in the morning and hot tea with raw organic honey, this abated the soda cravings and if I want more in the afternoon, I drink another cup of hot tea and it works!

Not saying you can never have sugary processed foods, just limit it to special occasions. A piece of cake at a birthday party, etc.

Most of all be active! Walk, jog, run a few times a week or play a sport that involves some cardio, or bicycle or swim.
The ladies above made some really good points.

Since you're 13, your body's not fully grown yet so serious dieting is not normally recommended (I'm not a fan of dieting in general, just because it normally backfires when you stop). But... You're at a great point in your life to start making healthy choices about how you eat.

Vegetables, fruit, whole grains, protein... These are all staples of a healthy diet. I personally love making protein shakes with fresh fruit and protein powder and some type of milk (dairy or otherwise). And don't skimp on water. Carry a water bottle with you around for a while to train yourself to like drinking it. If you're not a big fan of plain water (and a lot of people aren't), then try adding lemon juice or something to it.

As far as exercise goes, start slowly to not throw anything off. Go on walks and then build up from there. Talk to your doctor about exercises you could do that could strengthen your back and your knees.

You'll get there! In the meantime, love your body and yourself, because you're beautiful
