Default Rapid weight loss in the past 8 or so months . .

Now, this is not something I've come to brag on . . but it has made me very worrisome. I've gone to the doctor's and told her of the problem of me gong from 128 lbs to 112 lbs to top it off I have a fast metabolism and I'm still losing weight.

I was wondering if anyone has a similar issue and has formulated a diet and exercise routine that allows them to gain weight in a healthy manner as well as maintain it despite their metabolism.

At one point in my undergrad I was able to gain weight easily and the most I was ever able to weigh was 137lbs. I was most comfortable that way. I've tried eating badly which hasn't worked, read that drinking one gallon of whole milk a day would help coupled with exercise a small amounts of cardio, and then there's always protein shakes that never work.

I'm at a loss. Help.

What medical tests have you had? Have you tried tracking what you eat, by weight so it is accurate? Also tracking your calorie burn? How many times a day do you eat?

Higher calorie nutritious foods include nuts, seeds, olives, avocados, oily fish, cocoa powder/ dark chocolate, dried fruit, full fat traditional cheeses, whole eggs.

Well when I went for my check up, I told my doctor of this issue and she said for my height and age (5'3 and 24) that I was still at a healthy weight. She said she didn't feel I needed any testing, but this has persisted and I have lost another 4 lbs. From 116 to 112 . . . I really don't want to go below 100 lbs. I was 90 lbs at 17 when I graduated from high school; this is too close for comfort.

I actually have never tried tracking what I eat by weight. I have done the calorie count thing, I found that I'd have to eat well over 3,000 calories a day to gain a pound or so every two weeks. As for burning the calories, no. I'm not as active as I used to be, but I've noticed that any hint of cardio causes the weight loss to increase. I eat about 3-6 times a day, with a few small snacks in between. I eat a lot, but it just doesn't show.

I'd go back to the doctor and insist on some testing.

In the meantime, you might want to search out some forums for weight loss surgery. A friend of mind had WL surgery a few years ago and now is struggling to maintain a healthy weight, so you might pick up some helpful ideas there.

Absolutely go back to the doctor and insist on tests. You should have your thyroid tested. Do you feel well otherwise?

Yeah, honestly I do feel fine. In the past months I was under severe stress, so combined with that and lack of sleep. But now that the stress has dissipated and I'm now back to a normal sleeping pattern, the weight is still just doing what it will.

But I will call and see if I can arrange to have it tested. My mom had issues with her's so maybe it can be genetic. I don't know.

I'll keep the post updated once I do have the appointment, at least if there's nothing wrong, I'll know it's not my thyroid and that it's really just my metabolism being annoyingly fast.

I've had that problem. I used to be significantly underweight, quite a few times in my life. My hormone levels are low, so I have to be on birth control to even things out. Now I have no problems gaining weight lol. I've tried to go off a few times, but I just can't.

I've been on BC the last 3 years and never had any issues with my weight too much, well that its been this low, in a very long time. It used to be a problem to gain weight, but over time I could. Now it's like, no matter what the weight's not sticking.

Try to begin your diet to gain weight now. The farmers almanac advises that you do diets to gain weight during the waxing moon and the moon is waxing now. Farmers' Almanac Best Days I've been using the Moon to experiment with my body image and hair growth My Royal Family 4: Beauty By The Moon (Diet, Weight Loss And Long Hair) Also try to mix fat and carbs. Have a meal right before you go to bed. Make sure you sleep right after eating.

I've actually been trying to eat and then sleep, Lol or at least to lay down after eating.

Went to the doctor yesterday and found that I have a normal BMI but it's on the lower side of normal. I'm about 1.5 away from being underweight.

So I have blood tests to take this morning and I'll know the results in 3 days or so. It looks like a nutritionist is in my future.

Just be careful about eating right before bed. Not only can that cause a tummy ache, it can mess up your digestion, and if you don't digest your food you won't absorb it properly. This is not a very good habit to get into.

Yeah it doesn't always feel good to do, so I try to space it to be at least 3 hours or so before bed.
