Alkaline Diet/Detox

Thank you southerncurl the article was very interesting. Dr Robert Young says in his book that saunas are great because they make you sweat. The article also talks about sweating to get the toxins out of your body. Being in menopause keeps me sweating.
I don't know about the bicarbonate soda being that good for you. I'd have to research that more.
I haven't been good this week so I haven't been posting here lately. I'm dealing with a brown nosing beyatch at work right now and my comfort foods make me feel better. I'm REALLY going to get back on track by this weekend. I think I've been too strict on myself and have made it too difficult to stay on this diet.
I got interested in this diet when I read that as soon as we die our bodies go into an acid state in order to decompose. The foods the average American is eating today is causing the acid state in our bodies while we are alive. This really freaked me out and made me want to make some changes.

I'm back on track as of today. I'm doing pure Edgar Cayce which allows some dairy. I'm mostly sticking to almond milk, but will have some yogurt.

I'm eliminating beef, sugar, high sugar fruits, alcohol and caffeine (in the form of coffee only) for hopefully the next 2 weeks.
Where did you get the almond milk? The book I have shows how to make it using real almonds, but that's too much work. I'd also like to find coconut milk. I read this is also very good for you.

I buy the almond milk from Trader Joe's. The original version has fewer cals than the vanilla.

I also get coconut milk from there. It's in a (greeen) can and is reduced fat. I haven't read anything about it, but it does act as an appetite suppressant for me when I cook with it.
Thanks, Cherish. I'm in the process of making a grocery list so I can go to the store. Now, let's do it this time!

I found organic light coconut milk. I found almond milk, but they all had sweeteners added, so that was a no go. I also bought some low sodium V-8 juice with no added vinegar. I figure this will be better than no juice at all. Juicing is too time consuming, plus it takes ALOT of vegetables to make a cup of juice. I'm also taking Primrose Oil and Borage Oil along with a good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement and Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc. Well, we're off to a good start. I feel healthier already. Good luck!
