Exercise accountability thread

Ok so always had this problem and it sucks!!! I know you are supposed to eat after a workout to replenish.... But I always get really dizzy and light headed and nauseous if I don't eat b4 or if I eat to close b4.... So just wondering how yall handle such a thing

Nothing wrong with eating a small snack before working out. That is often helpful.

I always run on my treadmill, for several reasons - mainly because of hip pain and the fact that the roads around my house are rough and uneven with no shoulder at all. But yesterday a friend and I ran an outdoor trail at the Y. I really liked it! I think I may be hooked. It was such a nice change of pace, and the fact that it was February and in the 60's made it absolutely awesome! I think it may have been just what I needed to get out of my rut.

I always eat some yogurt or an apple and a few nuts about 45 min before my workouts...for the complex carbs and protein. I tend to have MUCH more energy and stamina for my workout. After my workouts, I drink a protein shake or even just a glass of milk for the protein to help rebuild/replenish my muscles.

So the plan for today's workout....
Eliptical: 45min

My trainer wants to add 15 minutes on the jacobs ladder after that. I HATE that thing. Its a slow form of torture that should be used during CIA interigations. I'd rather try my hand at water boarding...seriously.

I've just set up my Wii fit board. According to it's measurements I have a bmi of 26 and a body age of 42 and I'm very stiff.

In my defence I have had spinal surgery but that's ridiculous! Hoping the physio says I can go back to the gym tomorrow.

Wii fit is hilarious fun. I kick arse at hula hooping.

Are you ladies wearing fitness gloves? I don't do much weight training, I do a lot of cardio but the stairmaster and elliptical are killing my palms. I didn't think I needed them initially but I know I need them now.

My best friend's good friend died yesterday. I feel so bad... Every time I think about it my stomach sinks. People are posting things on his fb wall...

I'm stressing out about school, work, graduation... After graduation? Also, am I destined to be forever alone? (not just relationship wise but I mean, I have no groups to fall back on in this country... I have nothing here, yet idk if I could function back home now after all these years) I have regrets.

My job is beyond depressing, but at least I have one. I remember how many apps I filled out and how hard it was to get it.

My point being - working out is actually the only thing I look forward to somedays. It relaxes me. It is keeping me sane, but I feel so weak sometimes. I am scared and alone.

I've just done 34 minutes Wii Fit. Time flies playing it.

According to my Wii I've also lost a pound since sunday.

36 minutes on the Wii. I've gained a pound but what's a pound really?

My Wii fit age is now 35 though! So progress on something. My balance is better too, central but still backwards.

I've decided not to go back to the gym until I'm settled back at work. Going back to work and the gym at the same time could be too much. I should be ok by the end of the month.

I've started running 3 miles twice a week with a friend from work outdoors at the Y, and then once a week on the treadmill at home on the weekend. My goal is to make the weekend run my long run. This is working out pretty good. The shorter runs during the week keep me from getting sore and they also give me some experience running outside. My 1st race is just over a month from now, so I needed to get out and see what that was like. But I'm really worried the weather at the race is going to be really cold and windy -- it's on the boardwalk by the beach! brrrrr!!!!!

Temps dropped 40 degrees this week and I started my weekend course (16 hours of class Fri-Sun) so... I missed a week of training. It's 9pm now and I'm going to do a Nike Training workout.
Yay my Firm Thin in 30 came today!! Get it Amazon!!!

Good idea on the outdoor running - you will be more used to cold, wind, and terrain which should help on the race. It will also help teach you the important skill of picking clothes for cold runs, so you won't be uncomfortable during your race. Too much or too little clothing are both miserable.

I will cross my fingers for you that it is not too windy. Or if it is windy, that it is at your back the whole time :-)
