I keep forgetting to keep up with this thread! I have been really good about working out just about every other day (or sometimes two days in a row then two off). I've been alternating full-body strength training days (which are kicking my butt) and running intervals. Right now I'm seeing a lot of definition and improved muscle tone in my arms, shoulders, back, chest, and legs. My big trouble area still is my stomach, but as my boyfriend so helpfully pointed out today , it's only really looking so big to me right now because the rest of me is getting a lot smaller.

Hope the weather at the beach improves, hopetocurl.

Yesterday did free weights, full body - 15 and 20 pounds.

I did 40 minutes yoga this morning, using a new dvd - YogAdrenaline - loved it!

Dumped some water on my laptop last night, so I'm keying this from my iPhone while it recovers in a bag of rice. . Cross your fingers!

W4D2 of C25K yesterday -- it was a great run! I loved every min of it. I'd had a really bad couple of days (& this was before laptop debacle) so I think the run was really cathartic.

70 min yoga tonight.

Your laptop should be fine...my dog pee'd in mine (it's been a while) but it recovered nicely. Yes, the dog is still alive and was unharmed...she was politely telling me that she needed to go out and that she was tired of being ignored. It was a fair thing for her to do.

I went out running this morning...it was a good run...not great.

I am proud of myself because I made myself go out in a huge downpour to go to the fitness center across the apartment complex (it's a few blocks away). I used to use stuff like that as an excuse not to work out, but today I didn't even think about not going! I did intervals on the treadmill today. Twenty minutes total of alternating 2 minutes of walking, 1 minute of walking at an incline, and 1 minute of running (it doesn't quite add up because I walked a few minutes at the end to cool off). I also did about ten minutes of yoga stretches while waiting for my boyfriend to finish weight training and go home with me.

Good for you, badgercurls. I agree, it's entirely too easy to come up with excuses to skip exercising on any given day.

Last night I did my resistance training, using 12, 15 and 20 pound weights. Today I'll be gardening! We're going to build a stone wall....

2Poodles, are you still doing the NROLW program? I had to stop doing it after phase 1 because it started to be way too hard on my joints. I have hereditary short/tight Achilles tendons, so I think that all the leg movements/exercises were too much for me. Now I'm doing a weight training routine that my SO designed for me using some of the same exercises as NROLW (deadlifts, rows, etc.) and some other exercises. I'm finding it to be just as exhausting as NROLW was for me, but it's easier on my ankles and knees.

Also, building a stone wall sounds like HARD work!

Hi badgercurls - I'm not doing the NROLFW anymore either. Not because it hurt my joints, I just have been too lazy to do all of the reps and to copy down phase two on the new sheets! I'm doing many of the same exercises with the heaviest weights that I can, but only doing one set of each. I read somewhere that you can get most of the muscle gains with one set, so that works for me!! And the stone wall is hard work, but fortunately for me, my husband and 15 y/o son did most of the hevy work... The wall's looking really good - and now I get to plant it up - that's the fun part!

Gardened all day yesterday and today. The stone wall garden looks gorgeous - it's filled with 50 different perennials and two flats of annuals. The dogwood tree is going to be delivered soon - the hole is already dug. My back and knees are sore, but it's a "good" sore. I love spring!!

Your stone wall sounds great!

I worked out last night - full body with weights. I am totally feeling it today!

It was nice on Friday. So, I got enough to get burned without knowing it.

I am home now, so I went on a nice long run, it was the perfect temperature for it. My DD tried to go with me, but she wrecked her bike almost as soon as we go off our street. She has a scrape from her chest to her thigh...ouch!

Yikes, hopetocurl, that's too bad! I hope she recovers quickly.

I've been wanting to try that other fascia stretch you mentioned, with the sheets tucked in tightly, but my sheets just barely tuck in! I have a thick mattress with a memory foam topper extra comfy, but the sheets just barely wrap around it.

I'm going to see if I can't tuck a twin size sheet around the foot area just for this purpose, because that stretch sounds delicious! I do baddha konasana in bed all the time I love me some bedtime stretching! [haha, that sounds naughty.]

I did Day 3 of Week 4 of C25K last night, it was a really good run. Not as good as Day 2, but almost as good. Which is great because I was expecting it to be really hard and it wasn't. I don't know if it's the podcasts I'm listening to, the fact that I switched to running 100% on dirt paths [we have several along the boulevard by the river where I live], or if I'm just hitting a groove, but I'm loving it.

I was going to do yoga tonight, but I'm fighting a bit of a cold today. So I'm going to call it a night and hope to nip it in the bud.

Did one hour of moving mulch today. We had 10 yards of mulch delivered, so I only put a tiny dent in the big pile. But there's always tomorrow!

She seems to be better today. Shes a little sore.
I think that tucking in a twin sheet would help. I used to have the same sheet problem..until we got a new mattress. I love to stretch in bed too...usually because I remember that I haven't stretched once I get in bed. So, I just stretch then...sometimes I get up...mostly I"m just lazy.

Tonight I did Step class and then Pump class. I went up in my weights.

ETA: I am sore today...not can't walk sore, but good workout sore.

I just did 20 minutes of intervals on the treadmill. I had taken two days off because I overdid the weight training on Saturday and aggravated my tight Achilles tendons, so it felt really good to be able to work out today.
