Exercise accountability thread

I got back in the groove and have been doing lots of fast walking. I'm so pleased - I lost 2 pounds. I don't need to lose major weight at all, but I wasn't happy recently that I was gaining.

Exercise Yea!!!!!

Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj

Every day is a gift
30 mins on the bike made easier as there was sexy boy on the bike next to me.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
I've mostly stuck to working out four times a week. I just finished level 2 of the 30-day Shred for the second time in a week. I see a lot of improvement in muscle tone. I even lost an inch on my waist and my weight finally got below 130. I'm fit but I want to be able to do an endurance competition and not see cellulite on my legs and butt.
3b/c, medium-coarse, low porosity, high density
HG: Jessicurl Too Shea and Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Shampoo: nonsulfate shampoo and Suave Naturals sulfate shampoo when needed
I'm so glad I found this thread! Ok, let me see if I can stick to this. I lost 26 lbs within 4 months on weight watchers 6 years ago. That and working out (when I had the time) worked for me. I kept it off for 4 years...gained back 8...then lost 10 again (so a total of 28 lbs lost from the original). Now in the past few months I put on 11....sooo here I go again.
Started weight watchers on sunday Work out so far:
Sunday: Insanity (first video).
Monday: 30 min. Run/walk on treadmill
Tuesday: crunches, side crunches, leg lifts, plank, mountain climbers
I joined the gym about a month ago. My little sister was suppose to join with me and be my workout partner but didn't. So I'm going consistently by myself five days a week twice a day , after breakfast and after dinner. I also got a personal trainer so I can have some accountability. It's nice to talk to people who workout though I'm going to update on this thread daily/weekly 😊☺
Weights today. I have to say thigh cramp during a dead lift is not fun.

Followed by a gentle bike ride.

I was forced to go clothes shopping yesterday, due to the fact that I am bursting out of all my work pants.

I went through about 4 years of bad depression and weight loss. After my marital separation, my appetite got better and now the same pants that were falling off my body have to be given away bc I can barely zip them up.

I have always been very short, petite, and small-framed. My normal weight is around 110-lb. range. At the height of my depression I was 95-96.

The least little weight gain or loss affects MY STOMACH.....nothing else really changes. All the pants still fit everywhere else.

I'm 42, so I'm sure my age has a lot to do with it. My appetite and my diet are all over the place.....I hate cooking for only myself, so I eat a LOT of cereal and pb&j sandwiches. In my defense, I only eat the very high fiber cereals and I only use whole wheat bread. But Im in a serious food rut and eat these same things every day.

Anyway, I look like I'm pregnant and I. HATE. IT. I was a very late bloomer so I dont mind the other curves.

The worst part is that I have no money. My financial situation is extremely bad. I can't afford a gym. Me loathing exercise doesn't help either.

However, my apartment complex has a lot of hilly terrain. I had made an attempt at running/walking back in the fall, basically walking/running 30 mins a day whenever I had the time. And noticed incredible changes in my hip-thigh area......but then the cold set in.

How much is a personal trainer? My friend wants me to partner with her at her gym, which will offer $10/month memberships.....but that only includes the treadmills and ellipticals. I mean....I can work with that. Unfortunately, the gym won't open until sometime in May.

I'm sorry this post turned out so long; I hope I provided some background. If anyone has similar issues or can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm really trying NOT to go into the summer looking like this.

$10 a month is a pretty good deal.

I find when I'm depressed that exercise or even just moving, like going for a walk, makes me feel better and eventually that endorphin rush starts to last longer and longer.

Start with small manageable changes rather than making big ones, your more likely to stick with them. Take things at your own pace.

Pilates. All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to walk up and down the stairs at work tomorrow (or indeed the rest of the week because I'm on holiday) but omg the burn today.

Also I have reeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyy tight hamstrings at the moment.

My 56 years of fitness in a nutshell --
Birth to 30's - thin, healthy, no exercise, hated gym, never did sports, heavy smoker, no health issues besides migraines.
30's - had a full blown gym in my house but really didn't enjoy it so over the years I sold all the equipment.
40's - thryoid and old lady hormones packed on some flab but everything else pretty much the same. After boyfriend's 2nd heart attack we took up walking and did alot of it.
50 - quit smoking, walked obsessively, got way too thin, but still felt great.
53 - trained and finished a marathon (mostly walking and jogging but still thrilled to finish at around 7 hrs), weight up and down, healthy all in all.
55 - did a 4 month Fitness Challenge at the Y. Thought I would die in the beginning but I ended up winning the challenge and got 7 awards. I was pretty proud of myself considering I had never really worked out like that. And out of 30+ people I was 3rd or 4th oldest.
56 - currently I'm taking around 4 classes per week at the gym a block from my house. Never thought I would take classes but I'm enjoying them - kickboxing, classic aerobics, yoga, etc, and 1 hard core fusion class that really kicks my a$$ every Monday. They also have the full array of Curve's type equipment that I enjoy using. There are 4 floors worth of equipment and a running track. I'm not your typical social gym rat so other than the classes I tend to use the after hours floor in the middle of the night if I want to use a treadmill or bike, or I use the women's only floor which is less crowded. I never use the weight room. It's too hard core.
At home I have some dvd's, hand weights, ankle/wrist weights, resistance bands, weighted hula hoop.
Since January 1st I've also been doing what I call my 250's every single day - 200 crunches (various kinds) plus some push ups, planks, and bridges.
My goal is to work out around 20 hours a month consistently.
I love to cook and love all kinds of food, healthy or otherwise, so I just have to watch my portions and control the carbs (serious threat of inheriting diabetes).

I am still fighting 10-15 pounds of flab so I thought I'd pop in here and see what others are doing.
(sorry that was so long and super boring)

Trying to lose weight for a future baby. Still have 20 lbs to lose from my first pregnancy and would love to lose 40 lbs before getting pregnant again. I have joined weight watchers and am down 15lbs since December.

Gym classes work best for me. Did 1 hour of Zumba today and I feel pumped. Hope to exercise 3/4x a week. Wish me luck!

Did 2 classes in a row last night. An intense fusion class and a low impact kickboxing class. 2 solid hours. Whew. The last 20 minutes or so are a blur. I was wore out. But it felt good nonetheless!

And also - Congrats to any and all of you who are getting off the couch, even just once in awhile. Every little bit helps!

Who's My Hair?
3c/4a-b looking stuff lol
BC- May 16, 2010
Why I chopped: heat damage/breakage
Luv'd my permed hair I just didnt take care of it.
LUVVV my natural hair!!!
I've just started at a new gym.

I was the only woman in the free weights section but I have found it has a women's only section. With dumb bells that go higher than 4kg. So I don't have to disturb the delicate men by lifting heavy dumb bells in their vicinity.

Any way, I'm having a go on everything just so I can figure out what's where.
