I've been thinking. I'm going to reduce the weight I'm lifting (only by a bit) to make sure my core is working properly.

It will be strange lifting lighter but I need to train my crappy abdominal and lower back muscles. I think the heavy weights are too heavy for me to have proper control.

A healthy back is very important.

Forgot to do my Friday update last week.
Did 4 one hour classes, did circuits for 60 min, and did my 250's every day. A total of about 6 hours working out. Above my weekly goal so that's good.

A day of the push up challenge. I've just reserved some push up bars because they hurt my wrist so much. Stupid chipped bone from a snowboarding fall.

Owww - Curly Laura! That must hurt like hell. Hope it heals quickly.

I've had a cold so not much walking but managed some leisurely type walking today. Will get back in gear when I feel better.

Hi everyone

Thanks cp. I did it years ago. I suspect I have a chipped bone somewhere in there. I never bothered to get it looked at.

This week I did 3 one hour classes, took a one hour walk, and did my crunches, etc every day besides today. Not as much exercise as I'd like but I've been tired all week. Having trouble sleeping with is rare for me.

Jeepy, what are your 250's again?

Now that the weather is nicer I walk about 3 miles a day. And Mr. Man and I like to go hiking through trails in the woods.

I started daily crunches and push ups, but when I told Mr. Man, I sounded so angry about it, he laughed.

I hate exercise.

^ It's just a made up term that makes it easy for me to keep track of my daily 200 crunches plus some pushups, planks, bridges, and wall sits.

Thats what I wanted to know.

Wow. 200 crunches

I'm trying to do 50, twice a day. Plus 30 each of push ups and leg lifts.

^ Last fall when I did the Fitness Challenge at the Y, one of the challenges was to pick an exercise and increase it every day for 30 days. I chose crunches and started at 5 the first day and could barely do it. At the end of the month I was at 100 and pretty darned happy about that. The 200 was just some arbitrary number I chose on New Years Day as one of my goals this year.
You'd think I would have some stomach muscles by now, but alas all is still flab. : )

I was down with the flu for the last week and have done not one second of exercise. I'm still weak and can't breath but hope to get back to the gym by Monday.

I worked out over 14 hours/12 days in April. Not bad considering I was sick for over 2 weeks.

Worked out 12 days for a total of 14 hours this month. Not terrible. My time spent working out goes down in warm weather because I'd rather spend my time laying on the beach or strolling through the woods or sitting on the porch when it's nice out. So I'm more than ok with 14 hours.

I was fairly lazy for the summer but not too terrible and not unusual.
June - worked out 14 days for a total of 16 hours
July - worked out 17 days for a total of 16 hours
Aug - worked out 10 days for a total of 8 hours (August is always my worst month)

So many things have been interfering with my power walks! For one thing it has been blazingly hot. I considered joining a gym.

Hopefully, now that the cooler weather is coming, I will get back into gear.

Kudos to all of you who have kept exercising despite obstacles!

I've been a running fool!

This time last year I was a couch potato. Decided in April to pick up running. Now, I've been running around 12-16 miles a week. Did my first half marathon 3 weeks ago. My time was lethargic but I got 'er done. Now, I'm signed up for the Rock N Roll half marathon in DC next March. I'll be aiming to shave an hour off my time.

Running is not the most fun I've ever had but the results on my weight (lost 40 pounds since April) has me motivated to keep it up. It also keeps me honest on my diet because I need energy to run.

I worked out 10 day for 10 hours in September.
I will be stepping it up the next 10 weeks as I signed up for another Fitness Challenge at the Y. My consultations and fitness evaluation was this week and classes/meetings/challenges start next week.
