Thanks hopetocurl. I seem to have an ear infection, so it's been hard to not do stuff, since I don't feel all that sick. But I know that anything too strenuous will take away from my body's ability to fight off the infection.

I'm borderline on going to the dr, since I know that basically = a course of antibiotics, which I'd rather not do, since my symptoms are so mild.

I have still been walking some. I might try some light yoga tomorrow. It does boost your immune functioning, so how could that be bad?

Time to pamper yourself, wild~hair! Drink lots of fluids, rest as much as possible. Lighten up a bit on the exercise until you're feeling better. Hope that happens real soon!

As for me, I've been so busy in the garden that I've neglected formal exercise for functional exercise. The mad spring rush of yardwork is done, so now it's back to a routine. The hard part is starting up again. Darn.

You can do it. Routine is good, right?

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

Maybe a walk would be good for you? I try to keep moving even when I have a cold, just so it won't be such a shock to my body when I do start back full steam.

I did Step and Pump last night.

Thanks hopetocurl and 2poodles. I have been walking some. I went for about a 20 minute one on Sunday night which just about did me in! Last week I was commuting via train a couple days, so I walked to and from the train which was about 15 minutes in the morning and evening.

I am not someone who gets sick to easily, but I realy caught a doozy this time. I'm off work today and relaxing in bed with nc.com. Trying to enjoy the down time ...

Sounds like a movie day to me... listen to your body. If 20 minutes is too much don't do it. Are you sure it's a cold and not the flu? With a cold I can do my normal, with the flu, I have enough energy to lay in bed.

I'm trying the HIIT from sparkpeople.com. It's harder than I thought it would be....by the time it's to the run part, I'm struggling.

Wow, hopetocurl, good luck with the HIIT. I looked that over a few months back and was totally intimidated.

I finally got back to my free weights program. Used 12, 15 and 20 pounds yesterday.

I don't think it's the flu 'cause I don't have body aches, fever, lethargy, etc.

I should add that the Claritin I've been taking for the massive sinus congestion has been keeping me up at night, slowing my recovery. I've been taking it before bed, as it happens, and it seems to make me too alert for sound sleep. I've taken it before for allergies but I guess I did the dose in the a.m. [it's 24 hr extended release] so it never bothered me.

I've had to be up very early for work this week, so I've been sleep deprived. Sleep deprived, but on Claritin, so oddly alert as well. Luckily, it's the weekend and I can get some rest. And I won't be taking Claritin at night anymore.

As a result, I'm only feeling about 60% today. Still taking it easy ... looking forward to easing back into things once I'm up to it, though. My current quandary is which week of C25K I should go back to, after I've done some walking?

I would say to go 2 weeks back from where you left off and see how it feels. Move it up or back (or leave it there) for the next time you go out.

I did the first week 3 times, because I started and then had to miss a session. So, I started all over again. I have gotten the groove of it...I just HATE Running indoors on a treadmill, but because of heat issues and scheduling conflicts it's my summer routine. I think it will help me keep the boredom away. I am still doing my STep/Pump...I just need something for my Wednesday/Sunday routine.

Did my Baron Baptiste yoga DVD today. Love the routine, but wish he didn't talk so much.

Yesterday I did the first week of my HIIT for the 3rd time. I upped my speed. However, I think I over did it...my IBS was acting up yesterday. Next time, I'll slow it down.

Another yoga DVD yesterday. I'm enjoying the Yoga for EveryBody DVD. You choose your level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) and then you chose the time you want to devote (30 mins, 45, more). The instruction is clear and the tone is soothing.
