I've been biking lately and did some walking too. I haven't been back doing c25k yet, hence the lack of updates. I did, however, reacquaint myself with Week 5 this afternoon, so I'll be doing it before too long.

Last week was the first week I felt like I could exercise, so I'm easing into it. I biked about 7 miles today and I'll be doing some light yoga this evening.

I have to do something, especially yoga, because when I don't exercise, I feel worse. Much worse. My back starts to hurt [I lose core strength and my scoliosis gets exacerbated] and I feel lower energy and weak. I'm addicted to exercise!
Glad to hear you're finally starting to feel better, wild~hair. And you're smart to ease gradually back into exercise. I, too find that I feel so much better when I'm doing some form of exercise. My back is always better when I do yoga consistently. I'm going to a yoga for scoliosis retreat at the Kripalu center in the Berkshires in July. Check it out at:
http://www.kripalu.org/program/view/YO/IYBC81/ if you're interested. I have no idea if you live anywhere near there.... I'll be doing the 5 hour car drive!

So last night I wound up doing the full ashtanga primary series! It just felt sooo good, so I kept going.

Today, I biked to run my errands and go to the coffee shop, about 6-7 miles so far, I have another 2-4 to get home, depending on how ambitious I make my return route.

2poodles, I don't really live near there [I'm in Minnesota] but I would love to visit someday! Kripalu and Esalen are both on my 'Places to Visit" list.

I've taken a Yoga for Backs, Necks and Shoulders class before, and one of the teachers at the studio I got to here in Mpls has scoliosis himself and is really good at working with me to improve my technique in poses to benefit my back. I have to say, both have been really helpful to me. I can actually see the difference when I look at myself in the mirror when I'm doing yoga and using those techniques.

I hope you like it!
Wow - you're back with a bang, wild~hair -- good for you! I can only dream of being able to do the full primary series one day. I have a dvd of it, but they move way too fast for me and do way too many vinyasas for me! I'm totally impressed!

I am looking forward to the yoga retreat - I'm hopeful the instructor can help me make the appropriate adjustments to loosen the two tight areas and strengthen the two areas that are over-stretched due to the scoliosis.

Today I did a 50 minute yoga dvd.

Welcome back Wild~hair!! The yoga sounds awesome!!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

40 minutes yoga today. I'm going away for the weekend, so won't do yoga. Hope to get some hiking in, though.

Today, I did my usual routine... Step/Pump. I did feel like I was fairly out of balance. Interesting feeling during squats...like I was going to tumble over.

So, uh, it's HOT.

I don't feel much like running when it's hot. So I haven't been. boo hoo. I may not run 'til fall! Ah well ...

But I did the primary series again on Wed and biked to the coffee shop and back yesterday, even though I got my period and felt like ****e!

Today is looking like a day off. Still have cramps and did I mention, it's HOT?!
It cooled off, so I did Day 1, Week 5 of C25K today.

It went well, but not at all certain I'll be able to progress to a 20 minute run on Day 3 without a hitch. We'll see ...
Good for you, going back to running, wild~hair!

I did a 4 mile hike in the Endless Mountains of PA today. Gorgeous!

Wow, I've been insanely busy and unable to post. But I've been doin' stuff. A lot of walking earlier in the week while I was dogsitting.

I biked to and from the train for work a couple days. Yesterday was the topper: my niece and I went on a very long bike ride — about 3.5 hours long, with a few breaks here and there. I'm about to map it on mapmyrun.com, so I'll post the mileage shortly.

ETA: 12.84 miles! And she's only 12. I'm impressed.

Since I haven't been keeping up with the C25K as much, I haven't felt the need to post on here with every milestone. But I've been staying active.

I did 45 minutes of yoga on Tue and biked all the way home from work both Wed and Thu, which I think is about 12-15 miles. [I have a little odometer for my bike that I could use, I just need to remember to get a new battery for it next time I'm out running errands.]

Taking it easy today, I'm pretty tired from the holiday and family stuff.

I don't know if I'll be keeping up with C25K this summer. It's really hot now and I hate running in the heat. I'll still run, but it's likely to be more sporadic until the weather cools down. But I've got biking in the meantime, and restarting the program will be a nice new activity/goal come fall.
Good for you for staying active. All that biking - wow! I stopped with the running - it aggravated my back too much. I can do short intervals of running on a treadmill, but that's pretty dull. I should get back to it, though - since like you said it's awfully hot to do cardio outside anyway. In the meantime I've been doing yoga every day - usually 40 - 60 minutes. I'm getting pumped up for my yoga retreat. I leave on July 20!

Biked a lot today. No idea how far, just wandering around the city. Nothing too strenuous, just fun. About to do yoga because I'm going to eat a delicious meal tonight. I want to get that nice loosey goosey feeling ... and then stuff myself.
