Ouch... I'm already paying for today's gung-ho-ness.

After 20 min. on the stair step machine @ fat burner level 5, to took the "body sculpt" class (1 hr.). Then out of curiosity I decided to attend the following "body combat" class - an hour of kickboxing and martial arts moves combined with aerobics and calisthenics. *sore*
I haven't updated all week ~

Sunday went for a looong hike, about 2 hours

Went for a 20 minute walk Tue and Wed

Did yoga for 30 minutes Thu, just what I felt like doing

Just did about 15 minutes of yoga, again, free form

I'm trying to figure out my next move. I think I may start up with C25K again, but motivation needs to improve. In the meantime, yoga and walking are good.

so happy to see this thread still thriving keep up the awesome workouts ladies! I haven't been on lately, but keeping accountable for my workouts (I'm also on a Workout Mama's board) has definitely helped make it a pretty consistent part of my lifestyle. I've since, run a half marathon and am running my second this weekend then another in August. I alternate between running and zumba! I LOVE zumba, those of you who haven't tried definitely should. Just thought I'd pop in with an update on me, happy sweating all

I haven't been updating here, but I have been doing stuff. Mostly I'm focused on the Couch to 5K program again [I did it last about a year ago].

I am not doing yoga much, because I have a hip bursitis that really just needs to heal and yoga exacerbates it. I wish I could be disciplined and do yoga anyway and just avoiding the poses that irritate it. But as it doesn't actually hurt while I'm doing yoga, it's been difficult to monitor it and I end up overdoing it every time.

But if I run, walk and bike, I'm ok. So I'm just going to stick with that for a bit. The hip feels soooo much better.

I do miss the lightness in my body, poise, and general sense of peace that I get from yoga. So I will be back to it before too long.

On the off days from C25K, I sometimes go for a walk. Or ride my bike to wherever I need to go that day.

So let's see, my update: I just finished Week 2 of C25K.

I posted this on the C25K thread as well I thought this nyt profile piece about 4 runners was fun and inspirational.
I love yoga, it always leaves me feeling so refreshed. Wish I did it more. I have intentions on making it a part of my every day...just even 20min worth but I'm such a yoga rookie I'd never be able to come up with my own routine. Not to mention the kid pummel factor in the different floor poses.
nice job on week 2 of C25K

So they took a gigantic needle and put it in your hip?

Yeah, I won't be doing that unless my life actually depends on it!

I just found out what this is called: belonephobia.
Yeah, that's why I put off having the injection - but it wasn't that bad (just look the other way, lol). And I felt sooo much better.

Well, I'm certainly glad it helped, 2poodles. Bursitis sucks! So far I'm ok just staying off it, but if it persists, I very well may have to consider that.

I did Week 3 Day 1 of C25K today. I discovered a new iPhone app for the program that lets you play your own music, among many other nice features. I'm pretty happy with it. As much as I like Robert Ullreys's C25K podcasts, most of his music selections were never really to my liking.

Here's a link.
4mi run yesterday, man it was beautiful out!
1hr zumba this am
race day tomorrow

and I'm in the "yikes" to the very large needle club! So glad it's helped you though Poodle

thanks poodle! I'm back from my race and a little disappointed but I made it. 13.1miles
My my bowels started hating me at mile 5 and there wasn't a potty until mile 8 , then after that at mile 9 I just hit a wall. My gut was wrenchy and I couldn't run for more than a half a mile at a time I just felt awful....so walked a LOT of the last 3 miles. I decided to not kill myself and enjoy the race for what it was worth and enjoy the the scenery (which was beautiful and the weather was perfect) and NOT fret about my time or get too caught up with the people passing my by (even the 70 year old man shuffling by me tongue.gif). I came in at 2:02 though don't know my chip time yet. I'm really pretty disappointed though going on with my chin up, there will be plenty of more half marathons to come. I'll just make sure to mark...no banana pb sandwishes and tea for breakfast before the race .
I recently started synthroid and it's had a not so good impact on my workouts.

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well during your race. But you still finished - and at 2:02 - that's pretty darn good, isn't it - especially for feeling poorly. I can't even imagine running with a bad tummy.... I walked the Philadelphia marathon in the fall - 26.2 miles and it took around 5:26 or so. Your 2:02 sounds wonderful!

wow, I didn't know you walked the marathon!! That's awesome and in 5:26 is pretty darn good walking! I think that I was surprised that I even came in at 2:02, but am just more bummed that I felt so crappy during my run.
there will always be more though, so I'll just focus on the next one
think my workout tomorrow will be mowing the lawn, oof the dandelions are relentless!
