hehe, that's what I'm going for, ridiculous arms.

Yes, mamacurl, I do love biking, always have.

There's a new Trader Joe's in town, about 8 miles RT from my house, so I biked there last night. A nice ride. Did W2D2 of pushups — omg, it almost killed me! haha, in a good way, though.

Monday week 1 of training: 5mi run in 21-27mph winds again. It wasn't too bad actually, I took it nice and steady

vacation was great Wile, thanks for asking. we go every year with my ils and stay at a resort on the lake. lots of fishing, beach time, eating and drinking involved. it's great!
I don't blame you for sticking to the treadmill, man 100 is hot enough to knock anyone out on a run. I'm needing to incorporate more runs that have water fountains along the way now that it's warming up.

heading to zumba tonight, haven't done it in over a week...I'm having withdrawls I think.

Glad to read you had a good vacay Mamacurl!
Yeah dude was weird. I may have overreacted but you can never be too careful.

Wile, I'm actually getting used to the treadmill and rather enjoy it. It has a fan on it lol so I don't blame u for preferring to stay in the inside

Wild~hair I tried to do some pushups tonight and err uhh I will have to start at week 1 of the challenge. I'm still being lazy about it

LAME ALERT:

So I've been plotting my biking on mapmyride.com. Turns out they use kilometers. So wherever you see miles, you need to sub kms.

I feel stupid, but in my defense, I knew something was up. Those rides just didn't seem that far, once I plotted them. However, initially, before I plotted my commute, it did seem farther, in miles, than it truly was. Does that even make sense?!

Anyway, I'm guessing I felt that it was kind of hard and all because … I'm weak? haha Anyway, that's part of the reason why I fell for the weird, falsely higher number.

I used to commute 25 miles home a few nights a week [and I know that number's right!] which kinda blows me away now. I don't know how I did it. It wasn't that long ago, either.

Anyway, I biked home SIX miles three nights this week. And I'm keeping up with the 100 Pushups Challenge. I had to do an assessment kind of test last night and I did 31 pushups! [The test is so you know how to proceed with the program.]

Pretty sure I'm going to try some form of yoga tomorrow. I think my hip is ready for it. Going to ease into it. Really looking forward to it.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

oh no Wild, sorry about the mile/km mix up. At any rate, you're out there doing it and that's what counts. Super awesome job on the 31 pushups!!

think I might have some funky stomach thing going on, my stomach feels a little like a train wreck. I did a 6mi run last night and an hour of zumba this am. HOpefully my stomach feels better because I've got a 9mi run on my schedule for tomorrow am.

Mamacurl, right now I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that you ran as far as I biked.

And I'm having a really hard time doing it!

9mi run this am

Wild, all things come in time. I certainly didn't start off running more than 2-3mi a pop.

sdc, what's 30min squeeze?

Oh, I definitely know this to be true, but it's still hard to fathom running that far! Usually when people say they run this or that distance, I don't have a concrete idea of what that means. But since I've been biking 6 miles, I know exactly how far that is, and when I try to imagine running it — I can't!

At any rate, WTG on the 9 mile run! woot!

I did the ashtanga primary series today. I had taken quite the hiatus from yoga, because of my hip [bursitis] and ankle [a minor sprain in January].

My ankle is well healed and my hip is much better. It gave me no trouble, although I am still being very careful with it.

After my yoga session, I also tried to do Week 3, Day 1 of the 100 Pushups Challenge. I got through the fourth of five sets, and realized I'd hit my limit. There are a lot of pushup-like movements in ashtanga, so I'm thinking I need to alternate days for those two things. Will try again tomorrow!

9 miles!

Currently I am doing a mile jogging and a mile biking Monday through Thursday (Just started three weeks ago). I really need to do more, though. Especially strengthening training. I'm looking at several workout DVD's to do.
Isn't it you should do three cardio workouts a week and two strengthening workouts a week?

C=B, I think it just depends on the person and what your goals are. It definitely is important to balance strength training with cardio. I'm guilty of being a slave to my cardio and not allowing much time for strength training (most if mine is lugging my kids and all of their stuff around all day LOL).

Tryn, sorry you are feeling crappy. I too picked up some sort of bug, my niece (who I watched last week) had her butt glued to the toilet for days...seems I'm stuck with the same. no workout for me for a while

Hi All,
I'm barging in uninvited. I already have a fitness site I frequent, but I wanted to pop in here anyway.

I work out from home first thing in the morning. I hardly ever do outdoor workouts.

Today I wasn't feeling overly ambitious so did a TurboJam Cardio Party Mix 2 DVD (at least I used my 1 pound gloves )

On another note I hear about people doing 2nd, 3rd, etc day hair. I can't imagine doing 2nd day hair after a workout. Okay maybe after a weightlifting, yoga or pilates workout. But if I'm doing cardio or a circuit workout I get pretty sweaty. Do any of you do this after a vigorous workout?

Also, its good to see many of you have been checking in for over a year now.

100 degrees. Yikes. It's been so cool this year here. We've broke the 80 degrees mark about 3 days this year so far. Come to think of it, we probably only broken 70 degrees about 15 to 20 days so far.

Mamacurl3, wow! How long does a 9mile run take you? I'm a walk/jogger so I takes me like an hour to go 4.5 miles (including my 10 minute warm up at just over 3 mph and 5 min cool down)
