Because you have trouble putting on muscle, I don't think that you need to worry about getting too muscular for your taste. The other thing is that it's a very gradual process to put on muscle. So if you did realize you didn't like the direction your body was going toward, you could stop it before it got very far.
One thing for everyone to realize when weight training is that your muscles may swell while they're repairing after a workout. It's temporary and it means your body's working correctly. Some people freak out because they think they're going to get "bulky" because it's that "OMG! One workout made my biceps this big, what will happen if I keep it up?" feeling. But it is temporary and will go down.
ETA a link to this awesome video of a very petite woman doing overhead body weight squats - check out her body if you're afraid of getting too big. What she's doing is very heavy and hard lifting.

For lifting, I'd always learned that doing higher reps with lower weight would help prevent bulk. That's usually what I do since I have a tendency for bulk.
Wed recovery day
Thurs 30min tao bo strength 20min/2mi run treadmill
Guinness, I think I saw the Left handed milk stout last time at the store, I'll check it out. Bummer we don't have a Trader Joe's here...yet, that does sound like an excellent deal. I've heard they have good wines too?

I swear I just posted here... I wonder where my post went!?
I'm happy to have lifted weights today. I had been off for about a week and a half while working through tapering off Lexapro. Bleh - not a pleasant experience, but I'm feeling better now. I was really impressed with myself for being able to lift the same weights as I did two weeks ago without regressing from the time off.
I also walked about a mile today on campus. I've found that walking on the rutty, bumpy ice on the sidewalks makes my calves hurt at the end of the day. Hmm.

Sorry, I thought you were in the Twin Cities for some reason. I love wine but since I live alone, I don't buy it very often, since I can never seem to finish a bottle before it turns. Glad you've seen the Milk Stout around. Definitely check it out!
haha, but I did have a beer after that, along with some nice hot soup and tamales.
Honestly, I'm colder in my apartment than I am walking around outside. I actually get hot out there, because I've got so many layers on and I'm moving pretty fast. Only my hands and ears get a little nipped, so I just wear extra scarves and put my gloved hands in my pockets.
Yes, and I seem to run hotter than most, and sweat a lot more than most people in my yoga classes. It's kinda gross! I just tell myself I'm working harder and that's why. [Ya right.]
And yet I am the coldest person ever when it comes to being in a chilly building, like my apartment. I always have the heating pad going and extra layers. It makes no sense.
So, yesterday evening I went for a 30-minute walk. I'm doing yoga this afternoon. I switched it up because last night I had a social thing and drank a glass of wine and it's always hard to do yoga after that. But I can always walk.
ETA: 75 minutes of yoga Friday

Last night it was almost 60 when I walked home w/ a heavy scarf around my neck and a long sleeved sweater on. Carrying an insulated coffee cup in one hand, my jacket in the other, and backpack (must be about 25 lbs?).
I was SO hot and sweaty by the end of my mile walk! I decided last night that between the legs being sore (feeling a lot better today!) and my utter exhaustion, I needed to sleep in this morning, and changed my alarm. I am going to be very active this weekend, and need to feel up to the amount of energy I'll be expending, without making myself sick again!

Okay, so today I wandered all around the mall w/my daughter who was looking for shoes to wear to the mall. It was an exercise in patience. Does that count?

I jumped on my mini-trampoline for 20 minutes this morning, until I started getting attacked from both sides by my cats.

Guinness, we're in Rochester so not too far from the TC. With everything they are putting up down here, I'm sure a Trader Joes is on it's way in the next few years.
Nice job on the workouts!
Lilah, hope you are feeling better.
Friday...recovery day
no workout yet, but I'm hoping I can swing getting all 3 kids down for nap so I can shoot for a 4-5mi run.

I lifted weights this morning. Today was the first day of doing 3 sets of 10 reps of each exercise instead of 2 sets of 12 (Stage 1, Workout A, Day 5 of NROLW for those who have the book). Boy am I tired!

I love this thread. Hooray for accountability!
30 minute walk today. It was hard to walk vigorously, it's so bloody warm out there [yes, a balmy 34 degrees]. It wound up being a rather leisurely pace, but it was really nice to get out into the fresh air, regardless.

Great work everyone!
Cool! You're a little ahead of me so I'm going to use you as my guinea pig. :P I did Stage 1, workout 5B today... and kicked my own butt. It's amazing how hard that extra set is.
