Wow Mamacurl, how long does it take you run that far?

Like.Australia, I'm in the same boat. Keep going.

Today at the gym:
25 minutes walking on the treadmill, 3miles per hour with changing gradients.

Full body weights using machines (not allowed free weights yet) although I did sneak in some light dumbbell work for my arms.

Morning curlies!
Friday 1hr zumba
Saturday: rest
Sunday 6mi run in and about 1.5hrs of digging new garden

Laura, I didn't really time my run. It does take a bit longer barefoot, so I'd say about 2hrs + some change. Any luck with barefoot on the treadmill? Nice workouts!

Off to the gym for a shortie run and some belly dance

Great job, everyone! I haven't been posting every day, but I've consistently been getting up EVERY morning (even today when it was rainy and dreary and BLEH!) and doing 30-40 mins on the elliptical. I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it.
I've not gone barefoot on the treadmill yet. I will report back when I do.

bummer, gym manager came up to me and told me I had to put my shoes on. I was 2.5mi into my run, happily trotting along. Looks like I need to come up with a minimal shoe for the gym so 2.5mi run and 1hr belly dance, have another 1hr belly dance class tonight too.

Laura, might want to check with your gym first, apparently

I'm sure I'll get away with it, I used to work there and my friends work there. I'm sure they'll turn a blind eye.

Were you given a reason to put your shoes back on?

mc...when I ran my last 5K, there was this HS kid that was running w/ these shoes that looked like those water sock shoes. Have you seen those?! He said that he feels much better in those b/c it's like running w/o any shoes
These are CRAZY looking. You guys think they're actually comfortable?

Aussie, They're cool aren't they? I've been considering a pair of VFFs for a while...there are a few different kinds and they just came out with one that's supposed to be made more for running called the Bakila. I just might have to cave and do these. I'm also considering Jingas...very minimal http://www.jingashop.com/proddetail....edandTurquoise

Laura, she couldn't say for sure. Just that it's policy, sanitary issues ( I giggled and said I'm wearing CLEAN socks) and injury etc etc.

I'd rather be barefoot, but if I can't I might as well go minimal

Well, I planned to work from home today because I am having hardwood installed (WOO!) and I mistakenly left my laptop at my desk at work last night. This WOULD have been fine because I have my own computer at home that I generally use and prefer, but my freakin' network password expired last night and I forgot to reset it. I had a minor freak out and ended up getting up an hour early - driving 30mins to work, picking up my laptop, driving 30mins home. And all of this is to tell you all that despite this ridiculousness, I still worked out this morning. In fact, when I woke up, I threw on my workout clothes and drove in that way so I could jump on the elliptical as soon as I got home.

30mins of running plus a bit of cool down walking today.

Fast shower and out and dressed just in time to meet the floor installers at the door!
Can I join in the fun too?

I've lost about 15lbs since Christmas, I'm down to 130. I'd really love to lose 5-10 more but my body doesn't seem to want to lose any more!

I recently joined my local triathlon club so I could participate in their biking and swim workouts - our first river swim of the season is tomorrow evening! I tried running for a summer but my knees didn't like it, kind of a bummer because there's a bunch of sprint tris coming up during the summer.

Let's see, recent workouts ... yesterday I lifted in the morning, then in the evening I did 20 minutes each on the stair-stepper and treadmill (power walking), then an hour of power yoga. Today I biked to work and will take the long way home, making it a 13-mile round trip.
nice workout Aussie,
Welcome aboard Divegirl! Yay for a triathlon! Those sound like a good time, lots of work, but a good time. Good luck with your training

today, 1hr belly dance and 1hr zumba. Coming down with a cold I think, sore throat and headache, sore neck. Bah humbug. Need to get better, have my zumba audition at the gym on Friday am. Need to be at my best!

Well, I biked the 13 miles to and from work, but skipped out on the river swim to go eat Mexican and drink tequila instead. I ate waaaaayyy too much - why can't I have more self-control when I'm out?

Running's been going well, but after yesterday decided to only have booze on my cheat day. I'm gonna see how that goes for the next coupla mos.

So, went shopping w/ mom yesterday for a coupla dresses for my Jamaica mon trip...here is some of what happened... lol

We went shopping to the Dress Barn & then had lunch. I wanted to go and try to find a coupla dresses for the Jamaica mon trip & then treat for lunch. I ended up treating mom to a top for mother's day. I found 2 dresses & 2 tops.

You shoulda seen the look on her face when I was trying stuff on & said, this is part of my prob here & grabbed the girls...lmao!

She told me I need to stop running b/c I've gotten too big...lololol..........
Another 30-40min run on the elliptical yesterday and today. FH has lost 12lbs so far! I've only lost 5... so unfair!
lol Wile, I'm still in shock that your bubs are getting bigger with running! Total opposite here Love that you had a nice time with your Mom I get to take my Mama out tomorrow for some apps and her very first tat! When is the next Jamaica trip?? Can you pack me away in your suitcase?

Aussie, nice job on the 5lbs! Don't discard that loss one bit!

13.5mi barefoot today and my feet felt amazing afterward. It's getting better and better each week

Way to go, Mamacurl! Running barefoot sounds awesome. Maybe I should give running another try. But just that one summer made my knees snap, crackle, and pop to this day.

I biked the 9-mile round trip to work yesterday. I lifted this morning and biked to work again. Will probably undo it all by biking to happy hour this afternoon.

I want to get some cardio in over the weekend but will probably end up cleaning my new house before I move in. Does that count?
40mins varied resistance/incline on the elliptical this morning.

Divegirl - if you have access to an elliptical machine, I highly recommend it. My knees are bad too (which is scary because I'm only 25!), but they don't bother me at all on a nice smooth elliptical.
