Hmm.. I guess it's been a while since I posted here, but I took last weekend off completely from formal exercise.

I did 35-40mins of elliptical + abs Mon-Fri.

Took this Saturday off.

This AM: abs + arms, chest, back + 35mins elliptical.

I am getting to a point where I don't feel like I HAVE to work out every day out of building a habit/lifestyle, so it's about getting to a point of balance now.

Default New to thread

I'm new to this thread. I dont really have a workout routine but I am on a sport. I am in college and participate in a Women's Rowing team. I initally joined so that I could get in shape. I want to continue and alter my eating habits also.

Our workout routines so far are 2 hrs long everyday consisting of:
  • 10-15 min static warm up
  • Drills that work the core, legs, butt, and back
  • an areobic exercise on the rowing machines
  • lugging around a 600 lb boat
  • 10 min of serious crunches, planks, core stuff, etc
  • 5 min stretch via yoga/foam rollers

Back to the gym today after a cold and a slight chest infection. I lifted lighter than I normally would becuase I'm still a bit weak in my upper body:

10 minutes crosstrainer.

Full body weights

20 minutes walking on treadmill

30 minutes recline bike (I was watching TV and talking to a friend)

Feel OK though.

Yesterday:

45 minutes cardio broken down thusly:

20 minutes crosstrainer
20 minutes recline bike
15 minutes treadmill

I still trying to increase my endurance, heart strength and lung capacity. It's taking a lot longer than I thought it would.

Also I've recently noticed I've started sweating like a pig in the gym. Can't figure that one out at all, although I'm sure they've turned the air con right down to save money.

50 minutes cardio using different machines because I get bored really easily on them at the moment.

I'll keep the thread going!

Yesterday:

50 minutes cardio
Full body weights
20 seconds planks on each side and front!!! It's nearly a year since I did my back in and I've only just got strong enough to do them!

I'm new to this thread also! I got invited by Curly Laura and thank you CL!!! I haven't had a chance to read through all the pages but I'm starting at the beginning and I will catch up.

You guys are absolutely AWESOME. Even when I was much younger I never did all that you do.

I had brain surgery a year ago and only now have I been able to exercise but I'm really thrilled to be doing it. I hereby (drumroll) make a commitment to walk rapidly for at least 1/2 hour at least 4 times a week. I think I'll be able to do more than that, but that's the bare minimum.

Happy to have joined this thread and I will read all of your posts! Cheers

Woohoo! Go Curlypearl!!!

I've just joined a new gym and doing my normal workout was a lot harder than normal. I had to drop the weight down for all my upper body work, hopefully that's just until I get used to the different stuff. Either that or the weights at my old gym were a lot lighter than they said they were...

How many times a week do you go? Do you work by yourself or with a trainer?

I did my walk again today. I'm really proud of myself. I thought about this thread while walking and I was happy that I had joined.

C'mon other exercisers. Let's hear your struggles and triumphs.

I've been slacking on formal exercise for over a week now, but am giving myself a break since I've been super busy and have been getting a lot of informal activity in. Hoping to get back to my normal morning workouts this week - starting TOMORROW!

Great job keeping up with the workouts, everyone.

OMG OMG OMG OMG! I am in so much pain, or is it discomfort?

Anyway I have a case of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) today. I think I might have a bath before bed to try and loosen the muscles.

No chance to do my walk today, but it was pouring out so OK if I miss one day. Hope to get back in the saddle tomorrow.

Missed my workout again this morning. Had to get up extra early to bring my car in for service before coming to work. It's too hard to work out when it's still dark out.
