Got no exercise yesterday - darn. I meant to, really! I just had no energy. Some days are like that....

Today did W8D1 of the C25K program. Ran 2.5 miles in 28 minutes! Did this on the TM. My plan is to run outdoors once this week (did that on Monday) and twice next week, then as the weather permits. In between, I'll be using the TM for a total of 3 runs/week. I'm hoping that easing into outdoor running will allow my old and crooked joints to adjust!
2Poodles Southeast PA
fine, med porosity, normal elasticity
Currently using the following 2 - 3 x/week:
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day suphate-free Poo, cone-free CO and styling treatment, plus KCCC

I went running this morning for 3.5 miles. Still having issues with chest tightness...from the prednisone(I double checked with the dr). I made sure that I stayed within my target heart rage... Then, I went to flow class tonight (tai chi, yoga and pilates).
Currently, using JC HCC, Too Shea, CK and CCSS, RR or LOOB or MOP-C.
CK is the one!!

as of 6/17/10 - I have to add Joico!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

I did Day 1 of Week 2 of the C25K.

2poodles I have a question about this week's program. The program says:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 90 seconds of jogging and two minutes of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
But you can't fit that into 20 minutes evenly. So it's either 5 reps and you're under 20 minutes [17.5 minutes] or 6 reps and you're over [21 minutes].

I don't want to do too much, because I know this program is all about easing into things. Too little and next week's program will knock me on my ass.

I feel like 5 reps is enough. But when I read about Week 3, it looks a lot more intense, so I want to make sure I'm on track for that.

Anyway, how did you break it down?

I do most of my workouts on the TM and "translate" the program to make it easier. I don't want to have to add in my head while I'm trying to run!

So, each week I would make a "cheat sheet" and bring it with me to the Y and set it on the TM to follow. It counts up from 0 secs on the timer 'til when the whole workout is complete. Week 2's would look like this:

0min - walk
5min -jog
6:30 - walk
8:30 - jog
10 - walk
12 - jog
13:30 - walk
15:30 - jog
17 - walk
19 - jog
20:30 - walk
25:30 - done!

Hope that makes sense and helps.... Good luck!

Wow. Everyone is so decidated!!

I've been doing a Billy Blanks DVD every other day for a while but I've been so lazy lately!! But I started looking in here and I decided to do at least an hour on the eliptical if I do nothing else. I just change the level or angle of the foot rests to work different leg muscles.

I did Day 2 of Week 2 of C25K yesterday [Sat]. I'm taking today off.
