I took Friday off, ran 5+ miles Saturday and then took Sunday off for Easter. I know, I was bad, I should have run yesterday. I meant to run 5 days this past week and made it only 4.

Wow - it's really encouraging and inspiring to see how active everyone is!

I took off on Sat and Sun to prepare for having 28 for Easter dinner.... It was fun and yummy!

Today I did W8D3 of the C25K. I ran for 33 minutes. It was longer than I was supposed to, but since I was running outdoors, I had to get back to my car!

On the Young's: I know, huh? Love that stuff. Which Left Hand did you sample?

I have some Furthermore Three Feet Deep peat-smoked stout at home right now.

Wait a minute...this is exercise accountability...not beer accountability. Now, I'm gonna start thinking about drinking while I'm working out... AH... now I see the method to the madness.

I forgot about this thread. I've been working out but not recording it. Okay, back on track:

Sunday - full body weight training
Monday - "off" day, but walked ~1.5 miles on campus to classes
Tuesday - intervals on treadmill (alternating 2 min. walk, 1 min. run for 20 min.)

My plan for the rest of the week is to do one session of weight training and two sessions of intervals before Saturday.

See, if I didn't have this thread and my chalkboard in my kitchen to be accountable to, I'm not sure I would ever exercise!

I did Week 2, Day 3 of the C25K yesterday. Today I walked to and from Chipotle to get my dinner, 70 minutes.

I am loving the C25K! I wish I'd known about this earlier. It makes it so freaking reasonable. It used to be if I ran for more than 4-5 minutes, I felt like I was going to die. So of course I never stuck with it. It never occurred to me that you could build it up gradually like that. I have no idea why this never occurred to me, it's not like I've never been to a gym or had a trainer before.

Anyway, it's !

LOL Hope, haven't you ever heard of beer curls?

Guinness, I tried the Milk Stout. Peat smoked eh? Sounds interesting. I think I tend to like a bit of flatness in my stout (like that in a Guinness and the Young's Double)..too much fizz turns me off a bit. A lighter beer though, I like some bubbles.

Monday off
Tuesday 1.5mi run on treadmill, 40min on stationary bike
Wed..nothing yet. I'm hoping for a run though my 10mo old was up 4 times last night and I'm feeling a bit like a zombie. We'll see if this burst of afternoon energy can last me until my dh gets home.

Mamacurl, yeah, now that you mention it, the Milk Stout does have more bubbles. But I like that. Then again, there's very little about beer I don't like!

I'm tellin' ya, the peat smoked is reaaaaaally good. I'm about to have one right now.

I almost called you "teapot"! haha

Oh ... and tonight I did 70 minutes of yoga.

And I found a website that has programs for your mp3 specifically designed for the C25K program. It has music and they tell you when to run and when to walk. How awesome is that?!

I'll have to check out the peat smoked! Nice workout! Oh, and "you can call me a teapot if you want to" (trying to insert my best Flower from Bambi voice.

no workout yet, though I'll be getting one in later

I did Week 3 Day 1 of C25K.

I used the podcast thingy. It was GREAT not having to time myself. The music was okay. Not my favorite, but not as horrible as I'd feared. I will probably only be able to use each podcast 2x instead of 3x because the music will grate on my nerves [there's one podcast per week of the program, so in theory you use each one 3x].

I am really picky about music, though. And the guy did it for free out of the goodness of his heart, so I'm kind of a lamer for even complaining about it.

Glad you're enjoying the C25K, wild~hair. You'll find that pretty soon you'll be doing fewer walk breaks, so you won't need to pay attention to the time as much - in fact, I find it better if I don't check it too often. So, perhaps you can just use the podcast for a couple more weeks....

Today I'll start week 9! I'll be on the TM again. It took my knees until yesterday to recover from Monday's 30 minute run outdoors.... But I'll run while watching All My Children - my guilty-pleasure soap that I've watched off and on since the 80's...

I'll do a "brag" post once I'm done!

So, this morning I went to step class followed by pump class. Strangely enough, during the break between classes my girlfriends and I were talking about going out and having wine tonight. Sans children and hubbies, of course.

Really? I find that my knees hurt worse when I've been on a treadmill, but I think it really what you are used to. I will tell you that for running an actual 5k, you will need to run outside more... just to get used to the terrain changes. I know you can do this on a treadmill, but they are so "predictable." Nothing like doing a 5k that starts 1/2 miles up hill, 2 miles downhill and then the rest straight back up to where you started and not being mentally prepared for that.
