1 hour of p90x and 20 minutes of abs

I feel good today but I wish I would have gotten a short run in too, I haven't run since Sunday.

Yesterday's exercise:
Brisk 20 minute walk in the morning
Evening: 10 minutes of Just Dance 2, upper body pilates DVD, about 20 minutes of full body strength training with weights plus a good stretch
W4D2 done...kinda sorta kicked my butt...don't know how I'll fare next week.

Just think I used to worry 'bout things like that,
Used to worry 'bout rich and skinny, 'til I wound up poor and fat,
Nowadays I kind of worry where my mind's been at,

I'm really excited at the prospect of being fit and I so hope I can stick with it. I still just have a really hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I'm supposed to be eventually running for sustained periods of time...<crosses fingers>

I still remember the first day I started running again after years of not doing it. I couldn't run 30 seconds straight without stopping it felt awful. Now I can't imagine being that unfit.

I ran on the treadmill today instead of outside (which I prefer) to see if that would help with the pain in my hip. It doesn't seem to have made much difference. That's worrying me a little bit because it hurts every time I take a step.

You don't have to go to classes or anything you can do like 20 minutes 3 times a week with a video or online or at home and it does wonders for injuries and pain. It might help.

Yesterday I took a brisk 2.9 mile walk (49 minutes) on a hilly trail. I saw a fawn at the end of my walk. So cute. Then on my drive back I saw a flock of turkeys and baby turkeys!

Tonight I will do 20 minutes or so of cardio plus full body strength training.
I took a very leisurely walk today (think, "stroll" lol!) - about a mile and a quarter. It's my "off" day from C25K and I'm trying to keep my hurtin' hip loose.

VTmom, I had the same prob. I did get up to running 50 min and also have a few 5ks under my belt
My hip seemed less of a bother once I conditioned it when running...weird, I know.
You'd be surprised what you can do, tho take it slow.
I had to get supports in my running shoes and it made tons of difference.
I also have a treadclimber that I use 30 min/3x/week.

it's hell to get old

btw...this is the program I used...

My workout today (W4D3) was kinda awesome. I felt better this a.m for one thing...my hip just didn't hurt quite as much as it has been, even when I was running on it. I used the treadmill for the 2nd time in a row. I think I'll continue with that for a while to see if I continue to improve (I've decided what I really hate about the treadmill is the basement it's housed in! If I can keep this up, I'm gonna try and move it somewhere upstairs). I've also been icing it for about 20 minutes right after I'm done, am taking an OTC anti-inflammatory, am using one of those heat patches, and trying to do something very mild on my off days to keep it loose. Keep your fingers crossed.

Being in less pain today has made sooo much difference...I'm psyched!

Oh, and pray for me...I start Week 5 on Monday.

Yes, totally better than the alternative! lol
It will get harder, but you have to listen to your body and even if you have to back up a bit...it's okay!

I told hubby I was checking into doing more and he kinda was like , tho I need this for myself. It helps to clear my head. It gives me some 'me' time, ya know?

The treadmill is def not the same, tho is a good tool to use when we need to. The thing is try to go in the basement, if you have to, w/ an open mind and just focus like I used to...on the tv...of course football...haha and then using my ipod... 80s songs are the best when not using Suz.

I've never done ice or drugs or any of that, tho if you see the huuuge bruise on my leg [from the 65 no less! lol] you'd be like

I am happy for you. Keep up the great work!

As for the conditioning...I just took my time and let my body tell me what it wanted. I had folks tell me that they couldn't believe all the running I did, but take it slow.....your body will adjust....

I found this and hope it helps some! I use my ipod.....
