Tips for.....
sticking with it. For your rountine, and eating healthy too. How do you stay focused, not give up, not get bored, and have fun? Or is having fun something not easily accomplished???
I'm not having a problem with the excercising, just the eating. I'm lazy, and it's just too easy to run to the nearest fast food place, and grab something. I don't even like the food, it's just too easy to get. How do I get into the habit of eating healthy, making it easy, and ENJOY it? I just really struggle with this. Also I just thought it would be fun to start a thread (inspired by one on the general discussion board :D ) where we all could give any tips on what keeps you going, things to make being healthy easier. TIA :D |
Yes
This is what I need help on too. Sticking with a routine.
I have a good friend who is super-model thin for no reason. And she states that she jogs for 30 mins after work 5x a week like brushing her teeth. She just does it. I've got a magazine pics of Fitness models of what I would like to look. I'm trying to do the DVD Walk Away the Pounds. I'm liking that alot. |
For exercise, the thing that works best for me is scheduling it in in a way that equally important to other things you HAVE to do, like going to work, going to class, or going to a doctors appointment. I like taking classes at the gym which have a definitive start and end time, becuase it helps me think of it as a realy scheduled thing I have to do.
For eating, I think about all the things i'm allowed to eat on whatever diet/eating plan I'm on, and make a big list of the things I like. I then stock my house with those items! I plan meals to cook, and plan snacks to have. It all HAS to be stuff I enjoy eating. I get rid of everything I don't want to eat because it's unhealthy. If I ALWAYS have food around that is on my diet plan, I'm much less likely to just eat convenient unhealthy foods. |
You just have to want it badly enough. If you want it, it will be a priority, and you will make time for it. Tonight i want to rent a movie. But I had an ice cream sundae with my (unusually large) lunch, and there are only so many hours in the day. I can't do the extra long work out AND watch the movie...so one will have to wait: the movie.

I agree wit Who Me and Spiderlashes that it's a matter of making having a good diet a priority, not an after thought. You should plan your meals ahead of time, and not feel any old junk will do all the time. Once in a while is fine.
I think being health-consicious and vain help as well. |

I'll let you know at Christmas if I've stuck to it, but I feel like I've made a shift in my thinking and my priorities, and I want to look really good next time I go home. |
Sorry for all the typos in that post!
Glad the peevers don't visit this board too often  |
