Default Washing/Conditioning REALLY short hair...

Hello all! I joined this site ages ago when I decided I'd grow my hair out and wanted to wash, nourish and maintain my hair as naturally as I could. I have since cut my hair back into a typical low caesar, but I still prefer to use non-synthetic products (except conditioner, can't find a good natural one lol)...I wash with Dr Bronner's soaps and bounce between Suave Lavender, Suave Smoothing, or Herbal Essences Hydralicious Conditioners and pretty much only use coconut oil on my hair after washing and for the most part am happy with it, the waves look nice and at least to me seems to offer some sort of anti-humidity help too...But anyway, my question is, with my hair being soo short, it's more like I am washing and applying conditioner to my scalp rather than my hair, and co-washing with some conditioners can be a bit irritating to my scalp, so I was hoping you brilliant people could possibly help me figure out some products that I could use to wash or condition with for such short hair that would also be beneficial to my scalp? Or at least point in the direction of a thread that could help. I'd really appreciate it!

I think you'll have to do a lot of experimentation with over the counter conditioners (as with anything else) but I'd say why not try out washing with a baking soda or doing an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. I imagine that with proper recipes these can be good for both your hair and scalp and possibly be less irritating. Just search online for recipes and reviews to get more specific info. HTH!
