New to growing hair!!

Hey y'all! So I just started growing my hair back in April. So far it's really fun trying new styles, learning my hair type (which I'm still confused about), and even using new products. I actually know why girls don't want their hair to get wet after you've styled it. Smh. My question is actually two parts. 1: I'm running out of styles to do and 2: what products should I use to make my hair grow faster?!

Hey kingofkurls. First off, you hair looks great! In terms of getting your hair to grow I would definitely recommend adding co-washing to your regimen and/or doing weekly scalp massages with something like olive or castor oil. I grew out my hair for two years and had crazy big hair and co-washing was like my favorite thing to do.

As far as styles go, I personally always rock an afro but you could try comb coils or small twists. I have definitely seen those look good on guys before but it doesn't really fit my style. Good luck to you!

Thanks but what exactly is "co-washing"? I need to explore the app a little more lol

Basically it's just washing your hair with a conditioner instead of actually using a shampoo. I use Tresemme Naturals for co-washing and I think it works pretty well. The whole idea is that most conditioners also have all the cleaning agents you need to wash your hair and some of them have less harsh detergents, dyes and perfumes than shampoos have. I mean, it takes a bit to get used to reading labels and all that but if you check out the co-washing section on this site I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions. Also check out the product review section too and people will usually specify if they use a conditioner for r/o (rinse out), l/i (leave in) or co-washing. I highly recommend it!
