Hey I've been using natural treatments like coconut oil, mayonnaise, egg white, etc. I have noticed a lot of changes in the softness of the hair. I also used a lot of conditioners and masques for it. It became a lot softer but the problem is that it seems to be too frizzy and possibly dry (to the point where there's dandruff in the scalp) with no shine. Its growing out like an afro. I want it to grown down but its been growing upwards.
Here's some images of how it looks:

I'm wondering what I can do to it to make it grown downwards.. I want it to look something like:

I have no idea if this is possible. Thats why I came to this board for help.
Thanks.

I think it is very possible to get that kind of style but you will need to start conditioning that hair now so that it can grow long without breakage.

Stop with the food treatments because they require washing out and the egg is protein so in the long run it will dry your hair more.

Start leaving your conditioner in your hair every time you shower and then give yourself enough time to let it air dry. Don't rinse out the conditioner.

Dandruff is a sign of chemical imbalance so just start drinking loads more of water every day. Eventually it will go away. Don't resort to chemicals to deal with dandruff, they just turn you into a dandruff product junkie.

Be advised that some people's hair won't go down until they have reached a certain length. So you have to be patient and want until you've achieved a certain length before it grows downward.
Korkscrew and Goin'Grey like this.
Shinji,
You have a tighter curl pattern than the photos you show as your desired style. Your hair will look great long. All of us with curly hair...when cut too short...grows up, when it grows longer and has weight to it the weight will pull it down.

Look at the 4 (curl type) section on this website and see what other people with your hair type are doing for care and styling.

Thank you all for the information. I will continue to grow it until I see some good results and then hopefully get back to you.

I have started with leaving my conditioner in my hair rather than rinsing. I use this conditioner: http://www.buy4now.ie/retailersimage...d/z9820507.jpg

Maybe you guys can co-ordinate me to a better conditioner I would use for faster and better results.
Thank you.
I use a great hair product that can help you with your problems, it's Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil which is really good, it protects the hair, makes it stronger, and keeps it smooth, shiny, resilient, frizz less and healthy, I totally recommend it. In case you are interested you can check it out at safrons. com , trust me it's really good. ^_^
Good luck.
