Hello all. I'm brand new to this forum, but it seems like a promising place to ask questions that have been bugging me for years.

I don't know how to tame my thick wavy/curly hair so it seems like every day I have a bad case of bed head. I don't have any hair products other than shampoo/conditioner, and I have never used mousse or gel before. I've been trying to use Dr. Bronner's for my shampoo lately, and even though I love the product, I'm not sure if that is working out super well (though I think it is much better than the last products I used since it lacks silicone).

I'm going to be attending a career fair next week, so I would hopefully like to look presentable. I'm not really sure if I should apply mousse or gel or what to my hair to tame it for an hour or two. I don't think I've met anyone that has my exact hair type, and it can be really frustrating whenever it poofs up and gets messed up from the slightest gust of air.

Anyway, I hope I'm abiding by the forum rules by posting this in the right place. I think I'm a type 3 something, but I'm not sure what exactly. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks very much in advance!
