Today a woman came into my job and said how did u get ur hair like that? Is that a straw set? I said they r finger coils. She said what do u mean? I explained how I do it while its wet with conditioner in it I just twist it around my finger and let it go and the curl stays. She looked confused but said she liked it. I said the wrapping it around my finger just helps control the curl. She said well I tried to go natural but I just can't. My hair won't do anything like that. I gotta relax it. So I said well it took almost 2 years transitioning. Then she says well not me I don't have hair like that. U got that "good" hair. I was thinking, really lady? My hair is like 3c/4a and while I like my hair, the fact is that the good hair/bad hair is still an issue. I mean what's good hair? I was like her thinking I had to relax until I learned what my hair could really do. So I get it, but its still sad people think they have to relax their hair and don't have a choice.
At the same time, my sister who I work with and is natural and has a head full of gorgeous coils, was asked by a guy is that ur real hair or is that a wig? I'm thinking, dude, since when is that an acceptable question to ask a complete stranger in public? Ok sorry so long rant over.

"How did you get your curling iron to do that?!" I get that a lot... And I don't even own a curling iron! Then, I tell them and they say stuff like "you haven't ever curled your hair with a curling iron? Like ever?" And then they look at me with a weird face

Oh goodness the other day someone tried to touch a not fully dry curl sticking out the side of my head and I smacked their hand, I'm sorry to say. It was a gut reaction! We've got to protect our hair, haven't we?

My friend " I want curly hair so bad! But not like your hair... Less curly.."
Of course she meant fake curly like a curling iorn-.-
And "how do you get your hair like that?"
Me: "like what"
Person: " do you do that every day or is it natural?"
Me: " yea I get up every moring and do this-.-" not trying to be rude but I barly every straighten my hair soo why would people think its not natural?
And evey time I wear my hair down someone asks me if I got a hair cut!!!

The most annoying questions/comments I have been asked/told is:
"Please let me straighten your hair! It would look sooooo pretty!"
And once when I let my friend straighten my hair (which took a looong time) she got annoyed because my hair got curly again after like 10-15 minutes.
And I was like "I TOLD you!"
And every time I'm swimming or getting my hair wet, someone ALWAYS have to say something like "Oh! Your hair! It looks like, a soaked cat!"
Last time I checked their hair looked like a soaked cat when it was wet too...
And it was this really annoying person once. She always touched/pulled my hair and was like. "Your hair is sooo curly! Are your mom from Turkey?" My mom is NOT from there so I said "Nooo?!" And her answers was "Yes she is! Your hair is curly!"
Well first of all, both my parents are from Sweden.
Secondly I got my curly hair from dad's side of the family, not mom's.
Thirdly, since when do you have to be from Turkey to have curly hair?!

My friends always call me "mama lion" and if I'm not paying attention they'll either roar at me or some and start sticking random objects in my hair.
My best friend also has HUGE massive curly hair with thick, tight ringlets and she gets the same crap.
I'm glad though that, finally, my boyfriend lovessss my curly hair!

I have been straightening my hair for years and now I am finally starting to wear it natural again. I don't appreciate people asking me if I got a perm. Has it ever occurred to them that it might be naturally curly. Maybe they should first ask if it's curly not assume it has to be a perm. I also hate when people think they know more about you than yourself. An annoying coworker saw me with my curly hair and asked if its natural I told him yes and he tells me "no it isn't, you had to have done something to it". Apparently, if you know so much about me why are you bothering and asking. I also had another coworker tell me "what was going on with my hair? You look like medusa" (this was during the first days of CG when I was still working on a routine and my hair wasn't cooperating with me). Some people can really be ignorant. Curly hair problems :\

Oh my goodness me too! On a particularly curly day when I was feeling quite proud I was asked if it was a perm. I was insulted because when I think perm I think 80's and I hate 80's hair. My first month of CG I was asked if it was a curling iron. My curls vary so much in size I couldn't imagine how anybody could think it was a curling iron! Not unless I owned at least three of them and had a good two hours to play loopty-loo with my hair. Also when I first started wearing my hair straight years ago I'd get asked if it was a wig. Like they couldn't believe I'd managed to tame the beast. Guess you can't win either way.

Some people smh you just gotta laugh to keep from smacking someone hahaha. I used to get asked that when I was in school. I had really long hair pass my tailbone and the sun had made the bottom golden. They would always ask me if I was wearing a weave LOL. I actually like big hair but not "bad perm" big more like the actress who plays Carrie on the Carrie diaries.

Curly hair comments
Guys at school make fun of my hair and say, "its so weird!", and girls either scowl at my hair or say its really curly and pretty. One time I got my hair professionally done and wore it to school, and one of the girls said, "Wow I like your hair! Its way better than those frizzy ugly curls!" ...

I used to get asked all the time in high school why I didn't straighten it. Needless to say, it got on my damn nerves

Why must you touch my hair?!
I always get random people touching my hair. Why do they touch my hair? I don't know them and then they also ask me if I curled it. I always respond that it's natural, but they still don't believe. Usually I'm with my mom who has curly hair too, so I point that out. They just look at me weird after that.
