I am teased and ridiculed by others about my short hair. There is one girl who is Korean and teases me and yells at me for having short hair and tells me'go and grow some hair ****'
Have any of you curly teens been teased or ridiculed by others because you had short hair that took a long time to grow, or seemed like it never grew?

Also, i am self conscious about myself, mainly my weight, can i get some words of encouragement?

I would tell that girl to mind her business and worry about the hair on her head. If she keeps harassing you, I would ignore her and try to not be near her. If you have an assigned seat near her, tell the teacher you cannot sit there and why. It is the teachers job to take care of this. I know when I was younger teachers did not care, but because of all the recent tragedies that happen because of bullying teachers seem to care more now.
You just have to pretend that it doesn't bother you. When you show that you care they tend to keep teasing you about it. Exude confidence, and say you love your short hair, and that short hair is in right now. Say that you cut it short (I'm assuming you did to go natural) and that it's going to grow back, because that's what hair does, it grows.
Sorry, if I couldn't be of more help.

I did not have a realxer, i was natural all my life, it is just heat damage. I do feel more relaxed at home listening to my music. It makes me happy. But the thing is, my hair isn't short short; it is up to my chin. but since others regard it as short, i have to deal with it. Only 4 more moths till i get out of school though!

To be honest, people everywhere are going to have an issue with you or an aspect of your physique or personality. The important thing is to not care because the only person who needs to like you is you. Anyone who has an issue with any part of you is not worth your tine.

School is a difficult environment because everyone is trying to define themselves. A lot of the time this means they will seek to invalidate others in order to reaffirm themselves and their choices... but the fact of the matter is, in the real world most people have already outgrown that phase and even if they don't like something about you they will not comment on it. Most will have acquired a sense of tact and will not have the need to put you down.

Having short hair in a society that equates femininity with long hair is bold. It shows that you don't care about ridiculous standards of beauty and thay you acknowledge that there is more to you than long hair, a flat stomach and perfect everything else. I should know: for a long time I believed most of my appeal came from my long red curly mane. Until I cut it all off into a pixie cut. I can't hide behind my hair anymore and have to draw confidence from other qualities I had never seen in me.

So chin up and don't bother with people who are more worried about putting down others than of making something of themselves.

Thanks again!
