should I go for a pixie ?

Hey guys! so, for the last two/three months, I've been deeply inspired by Miley Cyrus's haircut, of course i know it isn't a pixie, but it got me thinking badly about cutting my hair short after i saw how much she loves it because its so easy , and the one thing I desperately need is EASY!

I have 3B hair, and i am seriously thinking about getting a pixie, because I am seriously fed up with my hair, i HATE it , its driven me crazy to the point where I don't like getting showers at all because i dread the untangling part, I just don't like my hair, it takes about 40 minutes ( no exaggeration ) to untangle, and I would do anything to make it not a burden. so I started thinking about cutting it super short, at the moment its just past shoulders length, unfortunately I can't post pictures because I wear Hijab. I'm thinking that I could just straighten the bang and it won't look terrible, or am i wrong ?

have you guys tried it, more importantly, do you recommend it ? I know the growing part will drive me crazy, any advice for that too ? thanks ! I'm sorta desperate to any opinions will be appreciated.

Also i'd like to point out that because of the tangles i get, my hair falls A LOT through the shower and untangling.

Hi. I'm 3B as well, and I used to have a pixie. Unfortunately, for our kind of hair, the one thing a pixie is NOT going to be is easy, unless you are willing to wear it curly. Miley has straight hair. To have your hair look anything like hers, you would have to flat-iron it daily (or get a relaxer; don't do this!). When I had a pixie, I flat-ironed my hair every day for over a year, and at that point realized I just couldn't take the effort, upkeep, and damage I was doing to my hair, so I decided to grow it out. The growing-out process was a nightmare, and it's taken me 2 years to barely make it to shoulder-length (while curly).

I'm not telling you that you shouldn't get a pixie. I just want to let you know that it won't look anything like Miley's unless you are prepared to put some major time and effort into straightening it. A curly pixie could look great, maybe something like this? http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...EwAw&dur=30742

What conditioners/detanglers are you using right now? It sounds like problems with tangling are a motivating factor here in you wanting to cut your hair. Have you tried Kinky Curly Knot Today? That works great as a detangler for many people. Maybe other folks can chime in here with product recommendations that could help you detangle more easily.

oh yes I know Miley's hair is no way near a 3B haha, i'm talking that since she said short hair is easy it got me thinking about it.
what other than it being slow to grow back was a problem for you ? I was actually ready to straighten it everyday since its just a small bang but as you say it causes damage
I actually like her hair and I'm ready to take that risk, but what I'm scared of right now is the growing process, how horrible is it other than the fact its super slow growing back ?
thats true, the tangling is my worst nightmare. I use a Pantene's " Milky damage repair " for my conditioner and the oil replacement which is supposed to - as it says on it - its supposed to untangle and it does , i can't say it doesn't, but thats just for a while, I'll definitely look for that to buy, I am desperate. thank you!

but when you got the pixie, did you like how it looked ? as long as it looks good I'm not upset.
I like this too http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...AwBQ&iact=ricl , do you think that could work well too ?

I guess the hardest part was how difficult it was growing out. I tried everything - products, cuts, styling, etc - but after a certain length just it got more and more out of control, no matter what I did. However, I should say that I wasn't CG back then, so I'm sure that was part of the problem.

Anyway, I hope you find a cut that you like! A curly pixie is beautiful! Good luck!
