Default Castor Oil ^^

How are you guys? Summer going well?

I'm new here so pardon me if you've seen a thread like this before (if you have, do direct me towards it~)

So I am on the search for castor oil. I've heard it does wonders on edges and nape hairs. Any of you guys use castor oil? If so, what brand do you use and where did you buy it from? I'm looking for it and cannot find it. D: Help please?

Hi! Yes, it's great. I've used it on my hair to thicken my edges after they came out a little from some spring twists I had. I don't remember how long it took to grow back, but it wasn't long at all. That self-conscious feeling didn't last longer than two weeks, I know for sure. It wasn't even that noticeable though. Haha!

My aunt's edges were so badly damaged from relaxers, they were nearly bald. I used it to grow them back. I mixed that with some other oil and leave-in conditioner and put a cap on it like a deep condition, but I left it on after I took the cap off. She texted me about it like a week or two later, so results show fast.

I use the Home Health castor oil. I got it from Whole Foods. If you don't have a Whole Foods, you could always do a search on Amazon.com. They usually have everything, and for a lower price too!

Hope that helped.

I've heard Jamaican black castor oil is good as well. I'm sure you can get it at a health food store.

You can try. The castor oil I have is by Softee. I'm experimenting with the cheap castor oil will work or if I need to get the good stuff. Lol

Same! I'm nervous about opening the bottle I bought. I'm hoping it isn't a waste of my dollars ^^"

I'm afraid I don't remember how much it costs. I know the smaller 8 ounce bottle was no more than $10.

You don't need to use a lot, so it lasts for a while, especially if you dilute it with other oil. I've had my bottle since the end of May, it's now the end of July, and I still have some left. I might get a three months use out of it. 😊

It might, but if you're going to put something directly on your scalp, I say the purer, the better.

But, that's just what *I* say... Go for it if you want.

I love black castor oil I use to use it on my scalp but just found out I can seal my hair with it and its not too heavy but I only used a dime size amount on each side of my head. I have course low porosity 3c hair

So, is Jamaican black castor oil suppose to work better than the regular yellowish castor oil?

It has more "nutrients" than regular drug store castor oil due it not being processed as much and since where I live jbco is pretty much in all the beauty supply stores I can easily pick up a bottle and the 8oz bottle usually last me a year or so because its so thick. The way I see it is, it's $9-$12 for 8oz (depending on scent) or &17-$25(including shipping if ordered) and last for a year. My favorite brand of coconut oil for 16 oz is about the same price in the store and it last just short of a year so you will get your money's worth

So far my hair likes the Softee castor oil & coconut oil. Together with water & those 2 oils, put a plastic cap on. In the morning my hair is soft & fluffy. Very manageable.

Castor Oil ^^-imageuploadedbycurltalk1375727139.361447.jpg twist and curl sealing with jbco. The castor oil keeps my hair soft moisturized and gives a sheen my hair never had before using it

Hey, I have recently used castor oil in my scalp yet I wasnt too sure on how to use it. I applied it everyday for about a week (without heating) After 9-12 days i started feeling a tingle which soon turned into a terrible itch! 2months later (today) I am still itching... just warning you, maybe its not such a good idea to use in your scalp without heating or pre-pooing
