Need Help...

So like 2-3 years ago I was on here all the time (under a different username...KurlyPrincess) I took great care of my hair and it looked awesome, I was CG, but not super hard core. But my hair always looked awesome.

Anyways, 2 (?) years ago I got a hair cut, which kind of demanded me to straighten it a lot...so I did. Since then my hair hasn't really been the same, it's not as curly as it used to be, it gets greasy super fast, and even doing the same routine that I did before just doesn't work.

I'm thinking maybe I need to do some kind of "cleanse" to remove all the buildup and get my hair back on track and then start again with CG and all good hair products. Every once in a while I have a good hair day leaving it curly, but it's not often at all so I usually end up leaving it up or adding some extra curls with the flat iron.

My hair used to be like a 3a/2b, but now it's more 2a...I don't know if my hair just spazzed or something when I went through puberty and it just won't be the same again, or if I just ruined it from straightening it. I got it cut to my shoulder back in July, I think...it's about BSL now. (bra strap length)

I saw this on pinterest and am thinking about trying it, didn't know if anyone else had some experience...
Coffee softens and adds shine to hair. Coffee also brings out highlight in brown hair. Ingredients: 2 tablespoons coffee 2 tablespoons your regular shampoo teaspoon baking soda (removes buildup from styling products)
Your hair's response could definitely be hormonal. After I hit puberty, I turned into a poodle. For some people, it's the other way around. However, it could be insane buildup or damage. Try clarifying your hair, deep conditioning, and continuing the curly girl method. If that doesn't work, try doing a big chop to get rid of damage. If that doesn't work, regrow your hair and embrace your new texture.

I did the same thing to my hair a few years ago and I hated it. I have been slowly transitioning my hair back to it's natural state. My dad just got me Kinky-Curly hair products and my hair went from 2c back to my natural 3a curls after one wash with baking soda. My sister just tried it today and her hair went from 3a back to her natural 3b curls. I suggest you try it (we have the combo which is listed on the Kinky-Curly website). If you do, DO NOT use a lot of curling custard in your hair. It will make it hard and your hair will not dry (mine dried after 24 hours). I hope this helps a bit.
I haven't tried kinky curly but I LOVE As I am cowash & leave in. Both leave my hair squeaky clean & hydrated.
