1. What products do you use and how do you use them?
I used a mess of products.. I use JCHCC as a "shampoo" and either use Too Shea or Suave Refreshing Tangerine as a conditioner. I use my generic "Potion 9" as a leave-in. It supposedly has a 'cone in it, but I don't experience any build-up, so it's all good. And for styling products, that changes everyday...

2. Your opinion on curly hair?
It's my favorite kind. You never see two curlies with hair exactly alike, and I love that.

3. Whats your hair type?
2c, I suppose.
I still have no idea. My hair is just confused.

4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it?
Modified CG, I guess would be the technical term since I use JCHCC.

5. What are peoples' reaction to your hair?
No one I know has a problem with it, I tend to get a lot of compliments or people "boinging" my curls. So there is no big issue.

6. How do you generally wear your hair?
I don't really know what to say to this just because I'm not sure of the question. But I suppose I normally just wear it down. With bobby pins to keep those stray curls from getting in my line of vision.

7. What your favorite dressy hair style?
I've never really had a dressy event to go to since I've been full-blown curly (wavy... ugh.), so I suppose just down, or pulled back.
Though I did like how my hair looked earlier, when I put a gardenia in it.
I can still smell it.

1. What products do you use and how do you use them?
My mom is always bringing home products from work so I switch it up every day. I put post-it notes on the bottel to remind me what products work well with what and how my hair reacts and such, so that I can recreate it when I need to.

Its one of the sexyest natral assets you can have.

4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it?
I'm not on it, but I rarly shampoo my hair as it is and never really liked products that were mainly cones anyway.

My mom cries just about everytime I want a haircut, my grandma and my aunts are constantly forcing me to "comb the rats nest", my friends like it but wait untill I chop it all off and get a cut that I have to straiten every day to tell me(thanks guys), the fake barbies want me to straiten it, my boyriend loves it to death, I could go on for a while...

6. How do you generally wear your hair?
Half up, in a headband, two small braids that join in the back, anything that gets most of it(I have to have bangs in my eyes or I go insane) off my face but still leaves it down is good. if something goes wrong with it then i resort to pigtails.

7. What your favorite dressy hair style?
I pin random sections of curls to the top of my head.

1. I use garnier fructise sleek and shine leave in right after i get out of the shower while my hair is soaked and then put on some herbal essances set me up gel on it after it dries a little

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? I use Suave Lavender CO and Homemade flax seed gel- and LOTS of it too...

Curly hair is unique and should be valued- and it's gorgeous!

Yes, full CG since April (17th, I think- should go check on that.)

5. What are ppls reaction to your hair?
The ladies at the gym are all infatuated that I don't use shampoo- but the overall general response has been a mix between, Oh your hair is so beautiful! and You need to come over to my house and I can straighten it!

6. How do you generally wear your hair?
Long and down, or I use a pin to twist it up.

7. What your favorite dressy hair style?
French twist definitely- you can see a pic here...Yes that's my hair...

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? I havent been using products lately... My hair hasnt been needing them since I started "plopping" it to dry.
2. Your opinion on curly hair? I love it. I used to hate it but now I wouldnt have my hair any other way.
3. Whats your hair type? Not completely sure.. I think it is a 2C/3A though.
4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it? I've just begun doing it.. I havent been able to fully read the book yet, but I am doing everything I know about it. I will soon have the book and be able to do it in full.
5. What are ppls reaction to your hair? People always oogle over my hair :P When I first started wearing it curly everyone at school stared and came up to me asking if they could touch it and saying how jealous they were. From that day on I decided to keep my hair curly and stop fighting it.
6. How do you generally wear your hair? If I am in a hurry I will braid it. Other than that I will wear it down. Occasionally I will put it into a bun or ponytail.
7. What your favorite dressy hair style? I actually like just having it down when I am dressing up. I think it looks more beautiful when it down then when its up..

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? Been more experimenting lately, but I love Samy curling products.
2. Your opinion on curly hair? It's really beautiful, it looks fuller and more healthy and rich that straight hair.

5. What are ppls reaction to your hair? Most people love it. I get a few compliments. My boyfriend said it was beautiful the other night, and he doesn't do a lot of complimenting.

6. How do you generally wear your hair? If I'm not at work, I have my bangs straightened (until I can grow them out, that's the only way they won't poooooof)
7. What your favorite dressy hair style? A tight twist around my hairline to the back and then my hair up and curly in the back.

currently using boots essentials for dry and damaged hair and Vo5 mega hold hair gel. Sometimes I use boots curl creme underneath the gel.
2. Your opinion on curly hair?
It's a distraction. I should be working to pass my exams, but instead I'm constantly thinking of new ways to apply product or which new products to buy next. I love it though.

ranges from 2c to 3b.

yep - have been CG since December 15th 2007 and my hair is loving it.

I get the odd compliment.

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? Shampoo and conditioner! Right now I take weekly swimming lessons, so I have to have my swimmers' shampoo. I mix it with conditioner and dilute it with water, then wash my hair with it. Before I that I condition with Aussie Moist and then when I'm done with that I condition it again with Aussie Moist.
2. Your opinion on curly hair? I love it! It's so pretty.

4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it? I have it on hold at the library right now.

conditioner= Organix hydrating teatree oil, or Organix curling citrus mango
Deep conditioner=Lustrasilk cholesterol and carrot oil
Gel=Garnier fructis super stiff, and Nexxus exxtra gel
Shine stuff= Hask placenta hair-polisher

2. Your opinion on curly hair? It's just as pretty if not more so then straight BUT it is harder to care for and on top of this shows more damage then straight. Healthy=beautiful
3. Whats your hair type? mixture of 3a and 3b with a smattering of 2b in the top layer
4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it? i don't shampoo my hair but i'm not exactly discerning in my selection of styling agents. modified?
5. What are ppls reaction to your hair? Depends, old ladies love it. on a good day i get compliments. Lots of people want to touch it, sometimes without permission, haha.
6. How do you generally wear your hair? down or in a bun. half up half down sometimes.
7. What your favorite dressy hair style? I just put extra energy into the regular styling routine for optimal shine/structure. If i'm going dancing or something where its hot and sweaty i might straighten.

1. What products do you use and how do you use them?
I use Giovanni Tea Tree poo (no sulfates or 'cones) about every other day. Suave Naturals Coconut condish ever day. Every now and then I'll use homeade brown sugar scrub. Then I put Biotera Curl Creme on very wet hair, scrunch, and plop for a bit. Then I use Biotera Gel and scrunch, then spritz on some homeade all-purpose hair spritz (awesome, it can be found on a thread somewhere in hair Recipes I think). Then I diffuse, spritz some more, on humid days I'll also spritz w/ Garnier Curl spray gel.
2. Your opinion on curly hair?
I LOVE curly/wavy hair. So beautiful, I just wish my wavy locks were longer and curlier

They never knew I was a curly girl, and I got LOTs of good responses. (I only wore my hair curly for the last 3 days of school and the senior I liked told me he liked my hair!!!

Since going CG, and for about a week before that, I been all about the curls, baby! Before that I wore it straight, pixie cut.

When my hair was long, I loved twirling it around chopsticks in the back. (Or anything really, like pens or markers)

1. What products do you use and how do you use them?
I use suave humectant conditioner and john frieda brilliant brunette light reflecting mosturizing conditioner. After I CO-wash, i scrunch in fantastix conditioning moisture leave in conditioner, eco styler firm hold styling gel, and garnier fructis curl shaping spray gel and then i plop my hair for 20 minutes. after that i spray on more spray gel and some soft and beautiful botanical oil.
2. Your opinion on curly hair?
i love having curly hair. sure it can be hard to deal with sometimes, but once you learn how to manage it you fall in love with it.
3. Whats your hair type?
i'm like a combo of 3a, 3b, and 3c, plus a little bit of 2c. i'm mainly 3b, tho.
4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it?
Yes, i've been CG since last saturday.

i've had all positive reactions.

Im liking the new board!

1. I use Creme of Nature shampoo, Silk Elements Herbal Hair and Scalp Moisturizing Treatment on to keep my hair and scalp moisturized, I use Ice Pomade to do twists and braids, I use Shea Butter Cholesterol after I was my hair as a leave in conditioner, and I use Proclaim Styling Gel to seal the ends of my twists and braids.

2. I think curly hair (no matter how loose or tightly coiled) is beautiful. There's just something so beautiful about seeing hair have waves or twist and turn from root to tip.

5. Well, some people just stare at it either in awe or disgust. Some people want to touch it and some give me compliments. I just visited a new beauty supply store in my city and the owner said, "Wow, you have beautiful hair!". I was so happy.

I think it's a Pantene Pro-V mousse for curly hair and after I condition my hair in the shower i squirt it in my hand and scrunch onto hair

It's cute and funky and amazing and almighty and girl-next-doorsy and generally fun to boiing in exams when I have nothing to do.

Well I'm not sure if I am. I mainly condition and rarely use shampoo unless I really have to. Must say it's improved my hair so much

1. I use Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural for colored women. I run through my hair with my fingers or a comb and let it air dry.
2. It can be absolutely beautiful. Unless its growing on my head then it decides to be confused and EVIL

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? I use Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo and conditioner and the Totally Twisted gel. I usually spread it in my hands and just scrunch my hair, applying the gel that way. And sometimes, when my hair doesn't behave, I spread a little anti-frizz cream onto the frizzy spots.

2. Your opinion on curly hair? I think curly hair is beautiful and has its own personality -- straight hair is so overrated! Curls and waves are original and everyone's curly hair is different.

3. Whats your hair type? My hair is 2c -- it got wavy after I became a teenager. I've learned to accept my hair for what it is -- wavy!

4. Are you on CG, have you ever considered it? I am not a CG yet, but I've been thinking about it. I'm so used to the idea that you need shampoo to get your hair clean! My only issue is that I have a greasy scalp.

5. What are ppls reaction to your hair? Most people don't comment on my wavy hair because when I go out, it's usually in a ponytail (I know, another CG no-no!), but they do comment on my dark red hair.

6. How do you generally wear your hair? I usually take a little piece of my hair on top of my head and just clip it back, a little clip in my side-part, do a half-up, half-down thing, or a messy bun or ponytail. Sometimes I'll just leave it down, too, when my hair looks good (most of the time that's after it's just been washed)!

7. What your favorite dressy hair style? I like loose, long spirals, with a chunk of hair at the sides of the face pinned back lightly. It looks so dressy and elegant!

1. What products do you use and how do you use them? I just switched up my products but I've been happy so far! I'm using VO5 Free Me Freesia as a co-wash about half of the time when I shower. Then I smooth in Aveda Shampure conditioner upside-down and scrunch (Icequeen method) some. I rinse cold, again upside-down, and then use a small amount of Renpure Moisturizing conditioner as a leave in before scrunching a little more, to get some of the water out. I then use Jason Curl Defining Cream and scrunch more water out, and then add EcoStyler Krystal Gel and scrunch until there is no more drippy water.

2. Your opinion on curly hair? Like a lot of other people who posted, I used to hate my wavy/curly hair. My mom wouldn't let me flat iron it so I agonized, trying everything else I could possibly imagine to make it straight. But it just didn't work, so for years I just had it pulled back in a ponytail as I stubbornly let it grow longer and longer as I planned to donate it to Locks of Love. When it finally was long enough I did donate it, and I liked my hair better wavy shorter, but I still kept it pulled back most of the time. At some point a few months later, I decided I wanted to try wearing it curly, and got a new haircut with that in mind, and I fell in love with my curls!

5. What are ppls reaction to your hair? Most people seem to really love it!

Once while at a sleepover I straightened it and in school the next day everyone was so shocked to see my hair straight and were happy to see it back to curly the day after that.

6. How do you generally wear your hair? I usually wear my hair down, with just a little in the front pulled back because it gets flat there.

7. What your favorite dressy hair style? I like my hair up in a messy but elegant bun with just a few pieces left out in front.

Hey

My friend thought the same thing as you do! But then she stopped using shampoo and was surprised about how little difference it made to how clean her hair was and how much difference it made to how her hair looked.
I've got some suggestions for you, though! You can be mod-CG and use mild surfectants, which clean away oil like sulfates, but without stripping your hair of moisture. Many conditioners also include these, but they are much higher up on the list in low-poo conditioners. CurlMart has a good selection, and they are also easy to find at stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.
They still were too drying for me, but they may be a good option for you. You could also try co-washing. VO5 is a great option for a co-wash conditioner and they have one called Clarifying Kiwi Lime Squeeze which I use when my hair feels gross and works well to keep it clean. You just need to make sure you're really scrubbing at your scalp with your fingers, because it's really the agitation that will clean your hair and scalp. Hope this helps!
