Default how to keep curls at night..?

Ok. So my hair is super curly, and the only way to get nice curls is to wet it. But i was wondering how i can keep my curls safe at night so when i wake up, they're still curly and pretty, cuz i dont have time to do my hair routine every morning. Does anyone have any tips? Please and thank you xD

The only thing I can figure out is not to sleep on it. I usually fan mine of the pillow upward so you sleep on the bottom of your hair if that makes sense. It usually works for me.

for me, just so i don't have to sleep weird and uncomfertable, i pineapple. Use a scrunchie to put a ponytail on the top of ur head. it doesn't smush the curls

A lot of people around here either pineapple or plop overnight, though I think those who plop overnight generally do so after washing in the evening. I may be wrong though. Personally I haven't found anything that will keep my curls intact over night, but mine pull out and frizz easily.

Check out the main board, there are a couple (pretty long) threads right now on getting second day hair.

I had the same problem- perfect curls when i went to bed, and when I woke up the next morning a frizzy mess! I usually plop the night before and then when it's still wet, put my hair in a high ponytail. The next morning my curls are fine! It works wonders for me, and creates a nice shape!

i'm a rly weird sleeper. i roll around all night, so my hair is a mess in the morning! i have to shower to get good curls. but if ur not a crazy sleeper, i recommend putting ur hair in a low, loose bun and when u wake up u can spray ur hair w/ some water in reapply products. hope i could help. =]

I tried plopping overnight and it turned out really bad...I can't achieve 2nd day hair cuz I toss and turn so much. I just shower every morning.

I haven't tried pineappling though, so maybe that would work for you?

I guess I was misunderstood. I tried plopping overnight too and hated it! I plop for about 20 min. before going to bed, then put it into a ponytail. Sorry about the confusion!

I have only done plopping overnight once being as I am new at this, but it did great on my hair too!!! I guess it depends on the type of hair your have. The next night, after plopping, I pineapple'd my hair, and it kept the curls in my hair, but my hair wanted to stay up on the top of my head, so it made it too full and sticking out! On the second day, I can put it up in a ponytail and nice and curly. I just cannot leave it down being as it wants to stand up on my head. And no...this is not due to hairspray being as I didn't even use any that day. Maybe I am pulling my hair too tight in the pinepple or something. I am going to try the SATIN PILLOWCASE tonight and see how that works.

I am a newbie, so I am just getting started on here. I just did a pure virgin coconut oil treatment on my hair, and it looks great!!

The main problem I am having on here is trying to determine my hair type. Looks like 3a, but it can be just wavy at times too being as it is getting longer.

Don't understand some of the short terms on here. Figure out what CG meant though! LOL!

Looking forward to making some new curly girl friends on here!

Try a VERY VERY loose braid, then pull it up to the top of your head and secure. This is the only way I can get a 2nd day of my 3b/3c's!!

Have you tried plopping, but with the knot at the front? Also make sure you tie it very tight.

Plopping the Live Curly Live Free Way

Try this version of plopping. It tends to squish the front of my hair a bit strangely, but other than that, it's much easier to sleep on.

+1 for pineappling and for fanning out your hair behind you
