Default not so poofy?

Hi I'm new. Are there any ways to make your hair look thinner and not so poofy (and loosen curls) without using a ton of condiontioner and growing it out?

Currently: Trying to stop straightening so much. Using Elucence conditioner and whatever works for me.

Do you diffuse? I find diffusing helps with curl formation, and volume too. So maybe try not diffusing? Also, try not putting in product upside down, but instead, stand right side up.

I find letting my hair dry in a low pony tail helps with my poofiness.

Or you could braid it. You'd loose some curl, but it would stop the pooding.
What products are you using?

i just changed my sig. the products are there. right now, i use christophe hyrating curls conditioner as a leave in, i want to get the curling balm soon. i take a shower, and then put in some conditioner to smoothe frizzies and put it in a low ponytail to dry, and it helps with my poofiness, thanks!
