looking for a hair sibling...

Is anyone available? Here are my "stats"

length- about shoulder length ( a little longer)
color- dark brown
type- mostly 3a/3b
products- garnier fructis soft curl cream, garnier fructis surf hair matte, la looks gel (the blue kind), sometimes a little bit of petroleum jelly ( i know it can clog pores, thats why i clarify), tresme vitamin c clarifying shampoo, christophe hydrating curls condioner.

my hair is thick, poofy, and dry. i want to loosen curls, make it look thinner so it won't be soo poofy, and find my HG. i'm thinking about using curl concious conditioner from bumble and bumble, so if anyone has tried it tell me. i don't diffuse and i usally put my hair in a braid or ponytail to dry, but then when it dries or is close to, i don't like it so i put it in a high bun. i am still trying to find the right routine for me.

Currently: Trying to stop straightening so much. Using Elucence conditioner and whatever works for me.
Maybe try a stronger hold gel. I use either Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee, or LA Looks Mega Mega Hold Styling Gel. Both hold all day and my hair stays frizz free. You could also try doing a honey rinse in the shower, and maybe mix a little honey with your products to help moisturize your hair.
Maybe try not using petroleum jelly and then only clarify once a month or so.

You could also try using a Suave or v05 condtioner (Tea Therapy rocks!).

Uh...I don't know about good drugstore styling products. I love (virgin, organic, unrefined) coconut oil as a leave in/styler, though.

The only way to really thin out thick hair is to get it cut by a curly professional, and their cuts are fairly expensive (mine was about $90)...so if you're on a budget, I dunno. Look at the CurlSalons near you, to find a cheaper one (and there *are* cheaper ones).

Good luck!
3b/c...or thereabouts.

actually, today i went to the pool and all i put in it was la looks gel and garnier fructis surf hair and it looked great! ususally my hair frizzes after i swim, but not this time! my hair isn't really even frizzy when i style it on regular days, it's just poofy

i think we have the same type of hair.. it sounds the same at least.

i think my most important thing is i deep condition my hair 3-20 minutes everytime i wash my hair. i am always on the lookout for conditioner. its my obsession :] but i use John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock to make my curls super shiny.

It kind of flattens my curly-ish waves . Maybe it'll have the same effect on you, except just elongate your curls.
Hope this helps!
