Have you ever read a book more than once for enjoyment? If yes, which one(s)?
I have never read the same book twice.
|
Yes. I've read The Grapes of Wrath more times than I can count. I've also read If I Never Get Back, a baseball book (fiction) every year since about 1998 or something. I've also read The Children's War multiple times. And I just finished Those Who Save Us, which I've read before. Oh, and I re-read The Book Thief with my niece over Thanksgiving - she was reading it for freshman English.
So yes. Certain books I reread because I love them and because they mean something to me. |
All the Time!! I generally end up reading Gone with The Wind once a year. I also re-read To Kill a Mockingbird, North and South plus ensuing sequels, A Prayer for Owen Meany and others over and over again.
I've read most of my collection at least twice due to needs and interests. I love re-reading books. It's like slipping into a familiar world. I always find something new in the text or even read it differently. I look at things from different characters points of view, find new themes or focus on one for that reading. I dunno. My books are like my friends and I like to revisit them every so often. |
There are actually very few books that I haven't read more than once. I probably could count them all on 1 hand.
I actually just finished re-reading The Hunger Games and Catching Fire for the 4th time each and I'm about to start again on the third in that trilogy, Mockingjay. |
From the Corner of his Eye by Dean Koontz.
Ive read it multiple times, and have bought it twice (let other people borrow first one, fell apart from page flipping! no one could put it down.) Dean Koontz is a great author imo (: Ive read a few of his books, and can never put them down, but from the corner of his eye, is my favorite/first read. |
All the harry potter books, and all the Georgia Nicholson books. The Georgia Nicholson books are for pre teens/teens but I think the author has written adult versions of them, they are FREAKING HILARIOUS. I mean you cannot read these in public, you will look insane.
|
Hamlet and Wicked. Reread both at least once every year.
|
I'm re-reading the Shardlake series at the moment. Harry Potter has been read through twice. Some Philippa Gregory books have had a second read too. I'm sure there's more.
|
Any of my favorite authors, definitely. If I finished a book and was satisfied I'll probably read it again at some point. I usually miss something the first time through and sometimes there's a new perspective I didn't see before.

All 4 of Deanna Raybourn's books. Some of them read 3 times.
|
I re read most books! I have over 400 on my shelf and only a handful of them have only been read once. The majority have been read multiple times - its like revisiting an old friend. Nothing better than snuggling down with what you know will be a great book!
Some I have read the most include: Pride and Prejudice Meg Cabots (any of her books) Harry Potter The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets The Seer and the Sword Philip Pullmans Garath Nix Michelle Magorian (particularly Goodnight Mr Tom) Rick Riordan Percy Jackson Anne of Green Gables series The Raging Quiet Melissa Nathan (who I love but has sadly died of cancer so can never write some new great books :( ) |
