I read magazines or do a crossword puzzle book. These I recycle through my city's paper recycling program when I am finished with them. However, I have so many books that I want to read, and I was thinking RR time might be a chance to read a few pages here and there.

I usually donate or swap my books after I finish them. I just keep thinking about a related Seinfeld episode...

If you read books in the RR, are these books that you will keep, or do you think it's OK to re-circulate (swap, donate, sell, etc.) them after you finish the book? Assuming of course that hands are clean, etc. Sorry if that's gross/TMI.

Definitely!
There were 6 kids in the house when I was a teenager, everyone shared a bedroom. It was the only peace I got so yea I grew up with it and continued the habit.

I know plenty of guys who take their ps3's and nintendo ds's. My brother plays on his phone.

I mean I assume everyone puts the stuff down and washes their hands before they pick it back up and take it out of the bathroom. I'm sure it doesn't matter about swapping etc, I mean you've probably bought a used book before, and have no idea what it's witnessed..ya know?

I did once too, it's too ungainly tho. I do take my phone in there often, mainly because I'm reading a book on it.

i love bringing entertainment in the bathroom lol, especially if i take a bath(which is rare, i'm a shower girl for now). i've brought books, nintendo ds, laptop, mp3 player. ♥

lol i tend to get too comfy in the restroom. always have, since i was a small child. i used to read in the tub when i was younger, end up falling asleep, and my mom would come get me out after 3 hours. i remember the water used to be freezing. ♥

I used to do it a lot more when I was younger. In fact, I used to just sit there on the potty and keep reading even after I was finished with my business because I'd get so into the book. Now, I'm usually in too much of a rush (kids, etc) so I don't have much time to lounge around on the toilet. My DH keeps the newspaper in there.

We usually keep magazines in the bathroom and those always end up in recycling so that's not really an issue. But when I used to read in the bathroom, I never though about my books and lending them to someone else. Of course I never told anyone I read a particular book in the bathroom either. I wonder if that would put them off. Now that I though about it, I wonder if it would put me off if I knew a book someone gave me had been read in the bathroom? Probably not.

I almost always take my cell phone to the bathroom at work. I do scrabble.

I read in the bath for hours lol When I was a kid I was always dropping library books in there!

And there are always newspapers, magazines, books stacked up in the bathroom ever since I was a kid. There's always something there to read while you go to the loo and I find it weird not to lol

Of course! Usually while I pee as the bath is filling up and then I read while I'm in the bath. I thought everyone read while on the loo, even if you've finished.

My brother had (maybe still has, we don't live under the same roof anymore) this habit of taking his laptop in their while he did his business. It became known as 'Bog Surfing' in our family home.

I do keep magazines in there. Not really for me, but I like to make sure my company is comfortable.

All the time! As a matter of fact, I remember always being late to school when I was younger because I'd be attempting to shower with one hand while I read a book in the other hand. My mom says, and I quote "You used to get on my NERVES with that mess!"...haha

I'll bring whatever I have on hand: crossword puzzle, phone, laptop, books. Doesn't matter. When I lived at home, that's how my family knew I'd be a while

I just make sure that when it's time to put said items down and get outta there, I don't pick them back up until my hands have been washed

I used to read in the bathroom, both on the potty and while in the tub. Still read in the tub. However, I no longer read on the potty. It's not that I think it's gross or anything; it's that we have a new kitty Jerri. She thinks potty time is her time to sit in my lap and have my undivided attention. If I have a book, she will bite the corners and kick at it until I put it away. She's pretty demanding. However, everywhere else in the house, she wants to be close to me and will sit in a chair beside mine, or lay on my feet when I am cooking or sitting on the couch. The bathroom is the only place she gets in my lap.
