Suggestions for good love story?
HI all! Looking for suggestions for a good romance story. Not a bodice ripping, saucy romance novel, but something with a little more substance. Have to admit, my love story kick is all due to Twilight :) [Not that Twilight has that much substance, but I like that its more plot than sex driven]
Side note: I've read all Jane Austen, so I've got those romances covered! |
Jane Eyre, A Town Like Alice (an epic romance that really takes off the second half of the book), The Host (also by Meyers, but very different from twilight)... Can't think of anymore off the top of my head, but I love these books. Have re-read them all.

A few years ago, I read a book called a Certain Slant of Light. It's about a high school boy who falls in love with a ghost who is able to take over people's bodies. I know it sounds weird but its really beautiful. Actually, thinking about it now makes me want to reread it.

A Walk to Remember - Nicholas Sparks Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë A Room with a View - E. M. Forster Mansfield Park - Jane Austen The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks Gone with the Wind - Maragaret Mitchell Anna Karenina - Leo Tolstoy Can't think of anymore off the top of my head. |
The Bronze Horseman by Tatiana Paullina (very dramatic - takes place in Leningrad during WWII)
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (it's basically Twilight for adults) Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier (this is mostly fantasy but I love the romance in this book) I would definitely recommend any of these to anyone! |
I'm currently reading "The House I Loved" by Tatiana De Rosnay

Dear John - Nicholas Sparks
It is one of his best books, and it completely and utterly ah - mazing! Sent from my SPH-M580 using CurlTalk App |
The First Princess of Wales by Karen Harper and Katherine by Anya Seton are beautiful historical fiction romances. I love them.

Anything by Nicholas Sparks!
Abbi Glines has very cute young adult books (if you can get past the sometimes bad grammar!) Emily Giffin's Something Borrowed & Something Blue are awesome! |
