Anyone read "A Visit from the Goon Squad?"
 

Give me your opinions. It's for a book club I'm in.

It sounds familiar, and I love the title.

Let me look it up. Sometimes I forget what I've read (very embarrassing).

Yup. Read it.

Some parts were very good, and some were less than very good. Imo, of course.

I'm about a third of the way into it. The prose itself is descriptive and I sometimes find the style engaging but I'm finding parts of it incoherent and a little pretentious. I doubt if my opinion is going to change since my opinions about a book are pretty well set by the time I get to the third of the way point.

I didn't care for the opening, but I liked other parts far better.

The first part did seem a little pretentious but it got better. I liked it and I usually don't like those types of books, the title pulled me in.

It is a good title.
