Default Great Expectations

I just forced myself to read this. Back in junior high, it was required reading, but I couldn't remember anything about it, so I've been piddling with it on and off for months and finally finished it yesterday. I know it's a classic but I just didn't enjoy it. It was tedious reading.

Someone convince me how wonderful it is again, please.

I loved it.

Dickens is like swimming in a deep lake, though. Lots of effort, lots of time.

I read it in college. The professor was a jerk, and I hated it when I'd choke up in class. Then I was glad it was so long, since I could hold it open and hide behind it.

It's one of my favorites.
