Loony Luna/Lupin connection....hmmmm. Hadn't thought of that before. Luna may like Ron, but she's got no chance---he's going to end up with Hermione (just think how thrilled Arthur will be to have a muggle-born daughter-in-law).

Ha!! Good thought re: Arthur's feelings on Hermione as a daughter-in-law.

I'm a HP freak too! Okay...I DEFINITELY think Hugh Grant would've been much better for the role of Lockheart. I'm watching the movie right now (coincidence!) and I think Branagh is ugly. The whole point is that Lockheart is supposed to be GOODLOOKING.
I rant and rave about that every chance I get. I just did in my thread about the Harry Potter 3 trailer and I will do it again here.

Kenneth Branagh is ugly, he looks older than I expected Lockhart to be and HE HAS NO LIPS! I don't think Hugh Grant is all that either but I think he would have been a lot funnier! I can't picture Hugh as a blond! That alone would have been great in a funny way.

I totally think Ron and Hermione will end up together. I've thought so since Book 1.

I thought Mrs. Weasley already knew about the twins' shop because they were at the train station at the end of book five, and she would have heard when they left the school (and what a way to go! I loved that part!) and the shop is already going ridiculously well - they bought dragon's hide jackets.

When Sirius gave Harry the mirror, Harry vowed not to use it because he didn't want to do anything to make Sirius leave the headquarters, so then Harry forgot that he had it, and since Sirius didn't have his mirror when he fell behind the curtain, Harry's wouldn't reach him.

I do think Sirius will still be a part of the books, since Harry could hear the voices behind the curtain, and Luna said that the dead never really leave.

Mrahaha... I'm obsessed as well. Time to put in my two-cents.

1: I DEFINATELY think that our buddy Sirius is going to make a comeback. The comments that Luna made at the end of OotP weren't just random. Harry will end up communicating with him somehow, maybe even just talking regularly since Sirius wasn't dead when he went through the veil.

2: Ron+Hermione is pretty definate as well. Enough said.

3: Luna and Lupin... Good thought... i never even realized that.

Merg. I HATE Cho... I can understand after her little man dying and everything but.... Geez. Something about her just grates on my nerves.

I agree with the Percy becoming a deatheater, he'll probably end up as Voldie's right hand man or something. JK'll probably have Ron get him, some dramatic brother vs. brother thing.

Hugh Grant? Nah, Kenneth Branagh was good. A little too old though... that bothered me.

Is anyone else obsessed with Alan Rickman or Jason Isaacs? I totally am. They've both got this sexy, evil aura, it's just.... sexy. Am I crazy or does anyone else think this?

Oh, and for you people who like fanfiction. Read "I am Lord Voldemort" by nemesis... it's the best tom riddle story out there and one of my personal favs. For those of you who like the marauders check our "The Boy Who Loved Lily" by Rinoa on fanfiction.net. V.V. good story. Some others are "The Chronicles of Lucius" which is absolutely hilarious and "Invisible" which i'm pretty sure is still on fictionalley.org.

ZippyElf-thanks for the places to look! Next time I decide to spend a weekend being antisocial (and helping my inner introvert) I will look them up!

I don't know if I think Percy is going to turn bad. I don't think so, but I don't know that he'll rejoin his family, either. He doesn't seem the type to apologize. I've seen that if you read his letter he sent Ron differently you can see it as a warning, rather than a "stay away from them" letter, but I haven't gone back to re-read it yet.

Petunia as a squib.....very possible. This would be a good reason for her parents to be so glad when Lily was a witch, and explain the jealousy. I also wonder how Mark Evans is related, and if we get to see him in the sorting ceremony next book! I'm sure it's not a coincidence that he has the same name as Harry's mom's maiden name! Harry has never been told about his family, so he doesn't truly know if his dad's family is full of witches and wizards, or if his mom's family is. The only evidence that it's his dad's family is that Snape called his mom "mudblood" in the memory in the pensieve. However, her reaction is not one of anger. So is she really a mudblood? Maybe that was James.

Wait, wait! Mark Evans? Where does he come in? I don't remember any mention of him in any of the books, and I swear I've read them all at least 5 times!

Order of the Phoenix. Dudley and his friends beat up 10 year old Mark Evans, one of their neighbors.

This was driving me crazy, but I found it on page 13. His mother's maiden name is mentioned in chapter 28, if not before.

I am a nerd.

OMG!!! Thank goodness I am not alone!! I thought I had gone off the deep end. Which is normal for me! I've never, ever admitted this out loud but I think those two are so hot

I am hoping JK includes more of Snape's background in the last two books.

And yes, Percy will become a Death Eater.

My thoughts exactly!

I may be pushing the bounds of blasphemy or heresy or sacriledge or all of the above but I think Dumbledore and Minerva are secretely a couple.

Yes!

Now that I have someone (several someones) to discuss the books with, I want to go back and read all of them!

Default Mark Evans

I'm wondering if Mark Evans is just an example of how JK is letting real life -- ie new husband, new baby, eclipse Harry's (how dare she!), & she's putting stuff in without thinking about it.

I think you're right, Petunia is a squib. Good call on Mr. Weasly, definitely MoM material! I don't think Percy could go DE, and if he does, there's no way his brothers would kill him. Most likely just convert him back. Luna and Neville will make a good couple. And Cho needs to be drop kicked off a bridge.

Kenneth Branagh was perfect, and he was exactly the way I pictured Lockheart- pompous, arrogant and full of hot air.

However I think Gary needs longer hair, I love Sirius, I hope he's not gone for good. I love all the Order of The Phoenix, and Hagrid

I'm always one to hope for the happy ending, so I think Percy will get his comeuppance, and after repenting, will rejoin the family.

Doesn't anyone see Harry and Hermione together?!? That seems like the logical match-up to me!

I always figured Neville is going to come into his own, and surprise everyone.

And to ask a dumb question - what's a squib ?

A squib is somebody born into a magical family who can't do magic. This is explained in Book 2, where we learn that Filch is a squib.
