this one REALLY angers me...

under a picture of Mrs. Obama:

Does She Look Like a First Lady?

as a matter of fact, she does! what are you insinuating with this "topic"?????

the people who have foisted this disgusting mess of "trending topics" on us should be so lucky to be as smart, distinguished and flat-out GORGEOUS as Mrs. O!

*sheesh*

This involved hair. But to be honest I couldn't get past the fact that my hair would never, ever look like that without extreme damage. I know that because nc taught me that.

NaturallyCurly's team has asked me to let you know that the company has taken action based on your feedback and has adjusted the content accordingly. They will also continue to monitor Trending Topics relevance to the CurlTalk community.

With all due respect, how has this been adjusted.

4a. SIIDY Jr.
Trae The Truth Speaks About Being Shot
Chris Brown's "Fortune" Tops Charts
Tony Braxton Returns to Small Screen
A Plus Sized Model's Controversial Spread

I guess because I'm black, I'm interested in men being shot, Chris (beaver face) Brown's stacks, Toni (spelt wrong as Tony) Braxton's return to acting (I LOVE HER THOUGH), and I must be plus sized.

After refresh new topics
Top 10 Smaller Albums of 2011
You're Probably NOT Shampooing Correctly
Drake Getting Some Quality Family Time
Thieves Target Weaves
Chris Draft Opens Up About Losing His Wife

How exactly are these topics "trending" when they are all over 3 months old?

If this is "adjusted" content, I think NC.com management FAILED.
Most of this is TRASHY CONTENT.

Instead of adjusting the trending topics (what is this, Twitter?) get rid of the entire feature.

YES +1 infinity raised to the nth degree times infinity.

Your customers are complaining. They don't like this feature. Listen to them. Customer is always right or something like that?!

I just read in the Say It Thread that it is collapsible. I am on the app all the time so I don't see it, thank goodness. The Guru thing is collapsible too!

Dear NC.com management, hiding the trending topics doesn't negate the fact that they are still trashy articles, not trending (they're old), have nothing to do with anything and downright offensive sometimes.

BUT I am glad that I can hide this ignorant bullsh*t.

Trending topics will hurt your brand.

That is all.

Hiding the trending topics doesn't hide the fact that they are offensive, trashy and often misogynist and racist.

These trending topics need to stop. They are offensive.

How are you sifting through the information to show what is relevant to us?

From Crowd Ignite:

Additionally, we are smart with what we show in the widget. We make sure the type of content that shows up in the widget is appropriate for the website. For example, we make sure that itís the right category of content, make sure that inappropriate content doesnít show up, and that the demographics match up (age, and gender).
They are not making sure content is appropriate for this website.

What is being done to stop this?

I used to love this site. Now it's nothing but another gossip site, a good portion of the curly hair information posted on the main site is inaccurate and a repetition of what's posted on Cosmo ..

I know this thread is about the terrible trending topics but I think this goes here.

I have an ad blocker but somehow THIS made it through.

GROSS, incredibly inoffensive just like the "trending" topics.

Texture media is making NC.com an AWFUL place

If TextureMedia's aim is to drive this site into the ground, they are doing a bang-up job.
