Trending topics - Page 3

I never see the Trending Topics thing but I'm offended just seeing the topics posted in this thread! The Curly Gurus thing does get past my adblockers and that's annoying enough.
It's typical of small businesses outgrowing their base, being taken over by people who don't care about the 'little people', etc.

Now there is an ad banner on top of any pictures we post.

I could overlook the curly gurus even though it made my page jump around and it was a pain to read posts with that happening. I could ignore the trending topics because I enjoy the interaction with my friends here. But putting an advertisement for some crap over a picture that I post is beyond ridiculous.

So, the solution is keep curly gurus, keep offensive trending topics, let's not show hair related ads, now let's show ads over pictures we post?!?! What has happened to this place? What about listening to the community!?

I think this desperation of TM to get us to view ads in EVERY WAY is too much. Please stop. We use ad blockers for a reason.

I guess when you get bigger/bought out you don't GAF anymore...

I just ignore them. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE SMART. I'm just saying that being nc.com doesn't have membership fees (praise Lilleth) I know they have to get their revenue somehow. I'm not saying I agree with these ads because They're obviously offensive to a lot of people. But they don't apply to me and I know I don't need botox, Kim K's secrets to blah blah or whatever other crap there is. So I just don't even pay attention.

I think it's cool that this site can have discussions about negative features with administrators in a civil manner and I hope there can be a conclusion where everyone (or most) are happy. But if those "trending topics" ARE keeping the site free I'm gonna just keep going bout my buziness cause I'm not trying to come out of pocket with nothin. Lol

I would never be able to stomach this place without multiple ad blockers. It's just not possible to ignore all the blinking lights and videos and things popping up here and there and the pages jumping around. It just sucks the joy out of being here.
Plus, for the last week NC has totally been messing with my laptop. It freezes it up, it slows it down to a trickle, and I have to restart multiple times a day. NC is the only place that is doing it. If I close it, my computer is fine. So I know it's something going on here.

And the word explicit is on some of the ads that are attached to the photos...and no, i didn't click the ad.
