Are we allowed to know who the mods are?

I suspect the numbered mod names were meant to avoid any sense of cliques, but for me personally it ends up feeling like a voice from above is announcing to us how it will be - somewhat 1984-ish, rather than members of the community who are making decisions and rulings.

I'm not sure this makes total sense as I don't know exactly how to explain how having threads locked/deleted/etc. by a number instead of a person makes it feel different. Anyone else feel the same?

I prefer the numbers so that the actual person won't get ganged up on under her board name.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
I assumed that the numbered mod names were meant to avoid the kind of situation that RCC is talking about. I think it's a good idea.
2C/3A, fine, higher porosity.

I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Yup the numbered mod names offer a layer of protection against internet beef! lol

Forum moderation is a tough job and they're volunteering their time to uphold a set of rules and guidelines that NaturallyCurly.com (not them personally!) has set up.

Also allows them to wear the hat of moderator, and then take it off to wear the hat of a regular CurlTalker with opinions, hair tips and questions just like everyone else.
