So, today, I decided to go through my spam mail just to see an email from a "Favour Johnson" that read:
Can you do something about this 'cause I don't feel comfortable getting such emails from people and I do not want just anyone getting my personal email address?
p.s I tried sending this to you several times via the 'contact us' page an always got an error message.
If I click on your name, I can see "Send Email to SammySingally" as one of the options. You can turn this off by going to your User CP.
User CP -> Edit Options-> uncheck "Receive Email from Other Members"
I don't know if that's how you were contacted by the creepy spammer, but it's probably something you want to do anyway.
Each time Ive clicked on "View My Public Profile," I don't see anything about sending me an email all I see is to send me a message (a pm), I click on it, and it's the normal thing for like sending messages to people on this site, not emails.
Anyways, I went to my user CP to make sure "receive emails from other members" is unchecked.
Actually if you click on your name when you are inside a thread, there is a drop down menu that shows it. Btw, an email can be sent, but the sender cannot see your email address. The sender's email address is available to the recipient.
Also, they might have gone from naturally curly to your blog, and gotten your email there. That is if your naturally curly email is the same one that's on your blog. It might be smart to get a new email for blog emails. Your email is on naturallycurly here:

In the comment section, so a web crawler could pick that up. I would bet that's where the spammer who emailed you got your email. If you Google your email address, you can see places where your email is publicly listed where spammers can get it. You can then edit your accounts so it doesn't show up.
