Coming Soon -- CurlTalk Redesign :)

New stuff is staying bolded for me now, and I think the line between the posts is a little darker. The quotes still need to be sorted, that's really hard to read!

Maybe change the board to a cream or a light grey, I don't have any eye issues, but this is really shocking white.

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

I never used that feature, not sure if this works the same.

I'm starting to get a headache now from reading a few threads.

Besides all the white, I absolutely cannot stand all those links in large caps. Bugs the heck out of me. I want the buttons back.

I see they made the front page a bit better, it's starting to look somewhat like the other version. Now if they could just do that to what's inside the threads.

I've design BBs and websites before, you can easily put table borders around stuff to break it up.. come on.

2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs
RO/LI: Sevi Pumpkin Seed DC / CJ Argan & Olive Oil, KCKT, YTBbs
DT: Coconut Oil + scalp massage
OIL/STYLER: SM Elixir / KCCC
COLOR: henna, amla & indigo
The View First Unread only works half the time for me, even though there's new posts in the thread that I haven't read.

For me, threads w/ new posts have always been bold and there have always been lines btwn posts. I just dont like all the white! Or that quotes aren't obviously boxed in. And that they get sooooo narrow as more and more posts are quoted. But yeah the vast expanse of white space is giving me a headache.

I just figured out that post dates are shown in the upper right...but I liked it when they were written out and had times, too.

I still have double pictures and my go to first unread is still missing. I do see it once I go inside the thread but it used to be on list of thread topics

I'm sorry, I am not a fan at all. I liked being able to get to the last post I read with one click. Also, I liked being able to tell at a glance if the post was recent or from 2006. I can't do that easily now. I don't like the huge whiteness either.

Basically, I am just finding it harder to do simple things, and it seems to be more than just a question of getting used to a new format. I hope you can fix these issues.

2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
Thanks. It should work. Still, kind of a hassle.
Oh my, it's really done a shrinking number on your alien, rou!

Why are the thread and post counts SO HUGE?? They are by far the largest thing on the main page. We look like a math forum or something with all our giant decimal numbers.

2c/3a, fine, low porosity.

Poo: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean (yes, it has A Sulfate!!, but I have Teflon hair)
Co-wash (when I feel so inclined, which isn't often!): VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner
Conditioner/LI:
same for both -- whatever I have in the shower at the time (I experiment a lot)
Style: EcoStyler Olive Oil <3
Dry: Diffuse or air dry, or both...depends on my mood

Sorry for posting twice in the same thread, but I have one other observation since I'm just seeing this on a desktop for the first time (I generally post from the iphone app):

As a coder, I'm noticing that this board is responsive and is possibly acting like it was maybe set up by someone with a smaller screen resolution? If I manipulate my browser window down to a slightly smaller size, things seem more set in a nice layout with less spans of white space in between everything -- is it possible to set a max-width in the code so that the structure of the board doesn't just keep expanding forever based on screen size? That might help people feel less like the contents of the board are just floating around in large expanses of white (an outer border, even just a simple black line, might help a lot with that, too!).

i wonder if i could get an alien shrink ray gun and colourizer to use on the board!

After you mentioned coding it on a smaller screen, I'm wondering if the designer was using a laptop. lol Right now I have my FF window sized to 1024px wide, and the difference is amazing. So much less empty white space to get lost in, and a lot more "compact" layout, without looking cluttered. I'd thought that a simple black border around threads as a whole would do a lot as well, but hadn't mentioned it yet.

Actually I always thought posts with quotes inside quotes inside quotes were a nuissance. If the new design discourages people from doing that, I'm okay with that.

It would be great that if/when you get a new private message, it will be bolded so that you know it's actually new. This was another issue even before the redesign.

My folks always taught me that 'beggars can't be choosers' meaning that one shouldn't gripe about what comes for free. But even though access to this forum is 'free', I have been choosing not to read it much since the redesign.
There is far too much glaring white and far too much big empty space combined with a tiny thin font. I have to zoom the size up and then scroll side to side to read it on my phone at all. On my Surface it is just unpleasant.
Hope these comments are helpful.
