Coming Soon -- CurlTalk Redesign :)

Ah. In IE, yes I see bolded. In Chrome, I do not. How odd. These are on PC. I will check Safari and Chrome on my Mac when I go home.
I use Firefox and see them if that helps at all.
I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Picture thing appears to be fixed. (Yeah!)

Now realize that when you click on a forum, you can no longer tell by bolding if there are new posts in a topic. (I suppose this goes along with not getting to view first unread without clicking on another link within the post). (Booooo! I really find this annoying beyond belief. Yes, there is the "New Posts" feature, but especially in a slow moving forum like 2 sometimes you really need to be able to see if a post has new posts by the bolding or you have to randomly click in them to see. SUPER SUPER SUPER unfriendly, design guys.)

Once you click to read a thread which has unread posts, there's a link above the first post to VIEW FIRST UNREAD POST. It's the rightmost link in the row of purple links in all caps. Still, I miss the clickable icon to just go to the first unread post instead of having to click to view the thread, then click again to get to the first unread.

I really dislike having to click twice to get the same results I got with a single click before the redesign.

My folks always taught me that 'beggars can't be choosers' meaning that one shouldn't gripe about what comes for free. But even though access to this forum is 'free', I have been choosing not to read it much since the redesign.
There is far too much glaring white and far too much big empty space combined with a tiny thin font. I have to zoom the size up and then scroll side to side to read it on my phone at all. On my Surface it is just unpleasant.
Hope these comments are helpful.

The bolded forums don't seem to work for me in Chrome or Firefox . Ones that I clicked on stayed bolded. In fact there are only a couple that are unbolded and they never change even if there are new threads. But I assume that's just a bug that can be fixed and not a design flaw so I'm not worried about that.
I'm still not happy about the New Posts thing and hope that is made to work like it used to.

The bold works for me too, even though I never really pat attention to it.

Sooo, are there any changes happening? I still have too much white, too much open space, still no delineation, colors are still too vague and pale, still too many steps to get to and from the next new post, the bold and not bold forum titles still don't reflect that I have or have not been in that forum, the avatars and thumbnails are still too small. None of this improves no matter how I change the page size or settings.
I know people went berserk when the colors changed the last time, but at least we could see them!
This really does give me a headache.

I'm sticking to the app, the forum drives me nuts from a computer. And I'm no whiny, I don't think I have ever complained about the changes in the past.

I don't know that I would stick around if I was new to the neighbourhood.

I just wish that whatever "switch" got flipped to change to this washed out, hard-to-navigate new format overnight (when it happened) could be flipped back to the "outdated" version that the majority of us liked so much better.
Location: Texas
Type: 3b/3c (i), below shoulder length.
CO wash: A-O GPB LYY, Salon Care Honey Almond, Devacurl OC, Acure Argan Stem Cell+Argan Oil, Mill Creek Botanicals Keratin Repair
Leave-ins: BWC, KCKT, cno overnight
Styling: BRHG, MGA Sculpting Gel, A-O Mandarin Magic Gel, LOTD AVG, LALSG
DT: Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak, Curl Junkie Deep Fix, Briogeo Don't Despair Repair!
+1 to the switch flippin'. These aging eyes don't like this "new" format AT ALL!

Can we please have real times and dates for the posts?

I am tired of trying to figure out 15 hours ago, 4 hours ago, etc.

Thanks!

Something else I noticed: the search function has changed and not for the better, I haven't yet found anything I was looking for even on the 2nd try after rewording my search, so frustrating! Before the change, I got better and more accurate results from any of the different search bars, and I believe that only with the exception of the "search this forum" option, if I entered a product's name I would get both the Curlmart entry and posts about it so I could choose what I needed, but now if I also want a result from Curlmart I have to go directly there, not very convenient... I really, REALLY want everything the way it was before!

i know i used to be reading something in curl talk, see a product and try and do a search on it. what comes up if you are in curl talk is only threads in curl talk about that product. the product might be in curl mart, probably has reviews, and maybe even in an article, but those things will not come up. and i really like to have ALL the info -- reviews, articles and threads. but apparently not anymore. altho, i THINK if you go to the home page and do a search it MIGHT all come up.
so now you have to be searching the website first before you can search whatever you wanted to search.
again, if any new person tries to do a search they will think there is no info or only limited info. i kept at it because i knew in the past there was more info, but if i were new to the site....... surely not a good marketing technique.
