font colors

i find the yellow/orange color that is used for many things on this new site very difficult to read. it is TOO light. is there a way to deepen it or change the color?

I agree, especially when they don't show up as unread and get darker. Why does this happen? I haven't been on in a day I know I missed a bunch of threads and I open it up this morning and everything is that same drab color.
At some point we hope to redesign CurlTalk, but we can't do it right away, unfortunately.

I'm wondering if your monitors are set properly. WOuld you mind taking a screen grab and sending to me so I can see what you're seeing?

Interestingly, my fonts are the same colors they have been for the last two years. Odd.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
I really like the orange and I know it's part of brand equity and consistency (I love the nc logo) but I'm also a usability professional and I realize that a certain contrast level needs to be maintained for good accessibility on any site.

There are tools that you can use to analyze whether the colors used provide enough contrast (there are web standards and guidelines around this best practice) I'd provide a link, but a quick google didn't return a really easy-to-use one, so I'll look around and add a link if I find a good one. What I did find out is that no, there isn't enough contrast between the colors used here on naturallycurly, and I'd recommend that when you do consider a redesign that you'd consider contrast when redesigning the color palette.
